Lone boar at 2am, right at the base of the mountain. We were able to run the dogs in, and they pulled him up in the timber. A good way to finish the night with a solid old boar and another hunt to remember. 🐗

Decent mountain boar with a bit of a story behind him.

We spotted him slipping back into the thick scrub on his way to bed. He managed to outsmart the younger dogs and put enough distance between himself and them, but the older dogs had other ideas.

About 650 metres later, on the opposite side of a steep gully beside a creek, the old boy had him held in a tight bail until the backup arrived.

That's the difference experience makes.
