🚨 CALL TO ACTION for Dog Owners & Trainers in New York! 🚨
The NY Senate (Bill S.7723) and Assembly (Bill A.6985) are pushing legislation that would require all dog trainers to be licensed. On the surface, that might sound harmless — but here’s the problem:
👉 These bills would severely restrict how we’re allowed to train dogs.
👉 They create a one-size-fits-all approach that strips away flexibility.
👉 They take away YOUR right as a dog owner to choose the training style that works best for your dog.
👉 They represent government overreach without consensus, forcing an entire profession into narrow rules created by people who don’t actually train dogs.
👉 They set a dangerous precedent — if this passes in New York, other states may follow, further limiting how dogs can be trained nationwide.
I’ve personally trained hundreds of dogs using methods that would be prohibited under this legislation. Not once have I hurt a dog — in fact, my methods strengthen trust and build lasting bonds.
This isn’t about safety. It feels like a money grab for licensing fees or an idea dreamed up by people who have never actually trained a dog.
💥 If these bills pass, I (and many other trainers like me) will no longer be able to train. That means fewer options, less freedom, and ultimately more dogs left without the help they desperately need.
📢 Please contact your representatives TODAY and tell them to OPPOSE S.7723 / A.6985. Let’s keep dog training about the dogs — not about politics.
🙏 Share this post and spread the word. Our dogs, and our rights as owners and trainers, depend on it.
