Meet adoptable Valerie. Sweet Val is a mini hippopittiemus, whose favorite pastime is meeting new people. Valerie excels at naps and is a pro at leash walking. As a middle aged lady, she is settled and calm and quiet. Please let us know if you'd be interested in fostering and or adopting this lovely little chunk of lovin'.

*Registered wheelchair support dog needs a new home and a new job.* Gus was dumped when his person went into a nursing home and was found wandering the streets looking for her.
"Augustus or Gus (for short) is a Cane Corso, 4.5 years old , neutered and will get shots UTD. When we called the microchip company, they told us he was registered as a therapy dog that had been trained to be a service dog around wheelchairs . Gus is in a shelter now and probably wondering why. He will bring his food bowl to you when it’s empty. He’s a big boy at 65 lbs . He loves everyone and is housebroken, he keeps his kennel clean. We don't think he has ever been in a kennel environment but a great dog. He needs to keep doing what he was trained for to help someone else. Can you help Augustus help someone else now??"

Beautiful 2yo F husky needs a foster home MIRACLE ASAP!
Nala was abandoned at a local vet, and she is not doing well in their kennels. Would somebody please step up to help NALA immediately. Her time is limited. She needs help this week.

DRIVE-THROUGH PET FOOD DISTRIBUTION - THIS WEDNESDAY! 🚗

We continue to be absolutely blown away by the generosity of our community. The support, the donations, and the compassion… it’s been extraordinary. 💙

Because of that outpouring, our diversion trailer is nearly full and we’re doing something we haven’t done in years: a drive-through pet food pantry to support City of Chicago pet owners impacted by the SNAP benefit pause or other financial hardships.

📅 Wednesday, November 5
🕤 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
📍 Chicago Animal Care and Control, 2741 S. Western Ave

🐾 How to Enter (see map):

• Enter W. 27th Street from Western Avenue (heading east)

• Turn right (south) on S. Leavitt Street

• Turn right (west) on W. 28th Street

• Drive into our parking lot for pet food distribution

• Exit back onto Western Avenue via 28th Street

Supplies are limited and intended to help as many families as possible. One household per vehicle, with food available for up to two pets. Distribution will continue while supplies last.

Only dry food will be distributed.

Dog food brands: Pedigree, Kibbles & Bits, and Nature’s Recipe.
Cat food brands: Meow Mix, Friskies, and Purina.

These brands will be available while supplies last.
You cannot reserve or request specific types of food in advance.

This event is intended to help as many families as possible.
One household per vehicle, with food available for up to two pets per household.

Distribution will continue from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., or until supplies run out.

This event is for those that live in the City of Chicago.
We will be collecting information on voucher slips at check-in. Please bring proof of address; acceptable forms include a photo ID, utility bill, lease, ect...

Please be patient, and please be kind. We’re all in this together, and we truly appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation. Thank you for helping to keep pets with their families.
