Just because February is almost over it doesn’t mean we stop celebrating Today we are highlighting Dr. Anthony White is a dedicated veterinarian and the Medical Director of IAC Urgent Vets’ Bronx location, joining the team in 2024. A second-generation Puerto Rican and Jamaican with roots in South Jamaica Queens and Brooklyn, NY. Dr. White’s passion for veterinary medicine began early, sparked by seeing a veterinarian on television. As the only doctor in his family, Dr. White has always felt a deep responsibility to represent underrepresented communities in the field, advocating for diversity and inclusion in veterinary medicine.
Dr. White pursued his veterinary degree at St. Matthew’s University (SMU), a journey that would take him from general practice (GP) to urgent care and emergency medicine roles in New York City. His career began at VEG, where he gained valuable experience before moving on to a variety of positions in GP, urgent care, and emergency hospitals across NYC. Dr. White’s most recent role as an emergency doctor in Miami honed his expertise in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Excited by the opportunity to lead and make an impact, Dr. White joined IAC Urgent Vets in the Bronx, where he is committed to bringing a new level of care and visibility to the community. He is a strong advocate for increased representation in veterinary medicine, making it his mission to inspire future generations to pursue careers in the field. Dr. White’s dedication to both his patients and the profession continues to drive his work in helping shape the future of veterinary care.
