Today my friend, and future mayor of Los Angeles, came to the West LA Shelter. Not to drop by and say hi, but to look at the shelter, ask questions, LISTEN to people who know what’s going on and spend time with the animals.
Not a quick “kiss the baby” and move to the next campaign stop…. He spent a lot of time, meeting the dogs (and cats) really interested in what needs to be done. He was in the yard playing with the dogs. Asking what needs to be done to save the dogs, cats, rabbits and all the animal in our shelters. He listened with an open mind and an open heart.
A few times we were both close to tears talking about these poor animals and how society and our shelters fail them for no fault of their own.
I don’t like politics or politicians for the most part.… and that’s exactly what I LOVE about Spencer. He’s real.
Spencer and Heidi were our neighbors before the fire and we’d see each other all the time. He’s a devoted father, husband and friend. I believe in him and I believe he will help Los Angeles and all the animals.
