Ever wondered how removable antlers are made?

Step 1
Drill a hole through the bottom of the skull plate up into the antler

Step 2
Insert a piece of square steel into each side. Rough up the end that is in the antler to give it extra grip. Cover the end in the skull with mold release

Step 3
With the antlers facing the floor, pour casting plastic into the hole and let harden. Cover antlers with plastic to protect from any overflow

Step 4
Cut a V shape under the bur until you hit the metal rod. This helps the antlers lock back in place like a puzzle piece

Step 5
Cut bottom of metal rod off flush with the bottom of the skull plate and remove antlers
