Not around us but important information

RABIES AIRDROP THIS WEEK ⚠️
The USDA will be airdropping around 500,000 Oral Rabies Vaccines across the red shaded counties now through April 15th. These are intended to slow the spread of rabies amongst wildlife. The graphic below shows what these look like in comparison to a quarter. If you see them, do not eat them! Also, don't feed these to your pets... leave them for wildlife.

Big shout out to the Halo House for Dogs for their assistance in taking “Who” to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Hopefully a short rehab will earn a release back into the wild!

Yesterday morning Dr Andy McKnight, our primary veterinarian at Fairview Animal Hospital, saw an injured Barred Owl lying in the middle of the road, without any hesitation he jumped out of his truck and dodged traffic to rescue this beautiful soul.
Dr McKnight gently and cautiously picked the owl up and transported him to his clinic.
Once they arrived Dr McKnight, with the assistance of Dr Watson, examined the owl and thankfully did not find any obvious wounds or fractures.
The owl did appear to be stunned or in shock due to trauma.
The Halo House for Dogs was asked to transport the owl to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
