Happy First Day of Summer!
Today we would liked to remind you of some summer safety tips as the weather heats up! Please be cautious while having your pets outside. We know it sounds crazy but yes the cement can be too hot for their feet. If your pet likes to be outside make sure to exercise them earlier in the day or in the evening and try not over work them. A fun way to keep them entertained and safe is to keep pools and toys available in the shade at all times. You can even try freezing some of their favorite toys in water to create a fun and engaging game!
Heatstroke is always a risk so please be aware of signs like; heavy panting, frothing at the mouth, and increased heart rate. If your pet shows any of these signs please call right away!

Transformation Tuesday!
Cash came to us in March after being hit by a 4-wheeler. Injuries didn't seem to be so bad until we got him in for x-rays. When we got in there it was worse than expected. It seemed that his hip and hip joint did not want to be friends anymore. The longevity of Cash was the top priority of all of us here. So Dr. Erin and Dr. Kayla decided to remove the part of his hip that was no longer attached to his femur, as this would be unlikely to heal back together and only lead to more issues in the long run if left.
Crazy enough 3 hours after surgery Cash was up and ready to go. Check out the video in the comments! He wasn't sure if he wanted to put weight on that foot yet but he was on his way to recovery same day! Cash is a tough boy and will go on to live a healthy and happy life even without part of his hip bone.
