Our family has grown by 1! Sutton Grace made her appearance 🫶🏻 we are both healthy and home recovering.

I’m so happy that we are getting eggs from our hens now!

I think it’s so important for our daughters to grow up learning that their food doesn’t actually come from a grocery store and how important farmers and truckers are who work so hard to supply the grocery chains. I know not all kids have the opportunity to experience this lifestyle and we thank Jesus everyday for our house, property and jobs that provide for us to have this.

I would love for us to get to the point where we don’t need to rely on grocery stores for our everyday needs, from hunting to processing and preserving as much as we can. One step at a time, maybe we will try some meat chickens next!

Ivy got to collet her very first egg from our hens today! (We cheated a bit and were gifted some older laying hens 🤫).

But nonetheless, we are so excited and can’t wait for all our hens to be laying!

So my husband came home with 4 ducklings… his excuse? They were $0.50 each at tractor supply.

Chubbers, Leo, Luna and Prince were such great company to me while their parents were away this past week. We had a great time 🙂
