Dogs are expensive.
And honestly… they should be.

Food. Vet care. Grooming. Boarding. Emergencies. Training. Time. Structure. Patience.

A dog isn’t a decoration or a weekend impulse purchase. They’re a living animal that depends on you for everything.

One of the biggest misconceptions we see is people budgeting for the dog itself… but not budgeting for the responsibility that comes after.

And training?
That’s often the first thing people call “too expensive” — even though behavior problems are one of the biggest reasons dogs end up stressed, surrendered, reactive, or difficult to live with.

If you’re thinking about getting a dog:
Plan for the AFTER, not just the excitement of bringing one home. 🐶🙏🏻

National Rescue Dog Day 🐾💙

Before they were “good dogs,” they were just dogs looking for someone to understand them.

Navy and Barley are reminders that rescue dogs aren’t broken. They need guidance, consistency, patience, and someone willing to see their potential instead of just their past.

Watching a dog go from uncertain to confident… reactive to relaxed… chaotic to connected… that’s the part that changes you too.

These two have taught us just as much as we’ve taught them. 💛

😎 Hot dogs aren’t just on the grill this time of year… ☀️🐶

A few summer reminders to keep your pup safe while soaking up the sunshine:

🔥 If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
🚗 Never leave your dog in the car — even “just for a minute”
💧 Bring water everywhere
🌳 Prioritize shade, breaks, and shorter outings during peak heat
🐾 Early morning & evening adventures are your best friend this time of year

Dogs don’t always know when to slow down… so it’s our job to help them stay safe. 💛
