Thank you to everyone who showed up and showed out for today’s chicken BBQ! 🍗🔥🍗

The support we consistently receive from this community is beyond amazing! 💜💜💜 In addition to selling out, we received so many donations 🙌 AND the ‘bakery’ cats — mama and kittens — were adopted! 🐾😻🐾

Many thanks to our wonderful volunteers for helping make the day easy and go so smoothly — we couldn’t do it without you! 💪💖

Special thanks to Chris Lee and crew for the top notch grill work 👨‍🍳🔥, the terrific chicken packing skills of those who helped from the Mountain School, Elkins Walmart and Kingsford Charcoal for donating supplies, and the First Baptist Church for allowing us to use their parking lot.

And, we gotta mention the brave souls who donned inflatable costumes 😹 and helped bring in so many donations — you made this a chicken BBQ we’ll never forget! 🤩👏

We are excited to announce that we are again issuing Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP) tax credits!

If you file a WV State tax return, and make a minimum donation of $500, you will receive a tax deduction voucher to use when you file your taxes. The tax credit is equal to half (50%) of the donation amount! So a $500 donation gets a $250 tax credit. A $1,000 donation gets a $500 tax credit, etc. Your donation will support low-income spay/neuter efforts in Randolph County and our Compassion in Action program, which provides emergency services to families who need it. Those services include straw during freezing temperatures, pet food and supplies, and many other things in order to keep pets and their families together.

Donations cannot be combined - they must be in lump sums of a minimum of $500. Your tax credit voucher will be sent to you by mail for use on your current year's taxes. Mail or bring your check to the shelter (PO Box 785, 195 Weese Street Extension in Elkins). Or donate online at bit.ly/rchsnip

In memory of their beloved hound, Luke, Walt's adoption fee has been generously sponsored by Aidan and Layne Lowther. This family is hoping to give Walt the same chance at a loving home that Luke had. 🪽❤️‍🩹

🐾Don't let his age fool you—at nine years old, Walt is proof that senior dogs have perfected the art of being a great companion. This big, handsome hound is a true gentleman with a heart of gold.
Walt loves his daily walks and shows his enthusiasm with a powerful stride, but he's all softness and snuggles at heart. He's incredibly affectionate and can’t resist giving out a kiss. He's also a connoisseur of all things delicious and especially enjoys a treat! 😋

🐾Walt is looking for a forever family that will appreciate his happy-go-lucky nature, his love for snacks, and his big, warm heart. Could you be the one to give this gentle giant the loving home he deserves? 🥹

Happy International Dog Day from all of us at the Randolph County Humane Society! 🥳🐾🦴

We currently have over 35 dogs in our care, and each one is hoping for a home to call their own. They are all spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and ready to meet their new best friend—you! 🤗

Meet some of our dogs! They are all looking for love and a place to belong. We have dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and personalities - so you're sure to find a match! ✅
