All right, my horsey peeps. I had somebody contact me today looking for a trainer that will break a horse to a cart or a buggy. This is not in my wheelhouse nor do I know anybody you know supremely close that does that. Does anybody have any suggestions of who would be a good person to contact about training a horse to cart or buggy? Thanks.

Jumpinghfarm is a family friendly facility that teaches riding lessons from beginner to intermediate. Our lessons start by teaching horsemanship, safely navigating around horses, grooming, tacking up in addition to saddle time. Lessons are English based although we do have western saddles. We take all ages from 5yr and up. To our lesson students we offer the ability to show if you are taking lessons at least once a week, Schooling hunter, Dressage, Jumping, Combined Training, Eventing. Half and full lease options available to our clients of our lesson horses and thoroughbreds in our rehabilitation program. Our clients get priority pick of the thoroughbreds in our rehabilitation program. If you are looking for your first horse, we can help you find it. Trail rides are offered in addition to riding lessons. Lessons prices start at $45 per lesson and discount for packages purchased. Trail rides are $60 a person ages 10yr and older for trails. PSA: If you think seeing ribs, hip bones, and your horses spine is perfectly fine, then YOU are the problem. I don’t care if your horses are coming out of winter or not. Most horses cannot live on 7 blades of grass and a bucket of water. I do not have the luxury of lush green pastures but all of my horses with the exception of the “current rescues or repossession horses” and the one just diagnosed with ulcers are in good weight some might even say MUD FAT. I have 45…. Yes that is a FOUR and a FIVE. Most are OTTBs or Senior horses. They have access to 24/7 grass/orchard hay and are fed quality grain. PEOPLE it is only going to get worse this season with diesel and fertilizer prices. If you couldn’t afford to feed your horses last year then you DAMN SURE will not be able to this year and this coming winter. If you bought a fat horse and 60 days later you can see ribs and spine YOU are the problem. If you didn’t feed your horses hay and or grain this past winter because you thought your dead pasture was enough YOU are the problem. If you can’t afford to feed them…. DONT F’n BUY THEM.

Worming, Teeth Floating, pasture, and/or 24/7 quality hay, and quality grain.

Old horses need soaked Senior feed with beet pulp/alfalfa pellets made soupy they cannot chew hay they quid it and gain no nutrition.

Thoroughbreds do well off a high fat grain and 24/7 quality forage not the weedy s**t you got from some farmer that could give two s**ts about what his hayfield looks like.

If you look out in your pasture and see lots of ribs, hipbones, and spine but have been “feeding” your horse reach out to your Veterinarian or another Horse Professional for help.
I am always happy to discuss what works for me, it is not cheap but it works, or put you in touch with my Veterinarian.

It goes without saying that if you have a horse with medical issues, you just took on a horse that was borderline to begin with, or have had some catastrophic life changing event and have reached out for help, I am not talking to you.
