KK'S LABS AKC Registered Labs current litter Chocolate and Yellow/White in East Texas Notice: Labrador Retrievers have a 50% chance of having hip dysplasia (any lab).

None of my dogs, all the sires or dams, have ever shown the genetic problem. It has been brought to my attention in the past 10 years that 3 puppies out of many litters had been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. It can not be diagnosed until they are close to a year old. Prevention steps are: not letting the dog jump a lot like onto funiture or in and out of a truck until they are at least 10 months old; not overfeeding them the first year. As with anything, there are risk factors that can happen.
