Just wanted to say thank you to Dr. Aumer/ Country Care Equine Vet for another easy and fluid Spring vet day as well as to our boarders with amazing communication and energy. All horses got a gold star except Oscar so credit to them too. The littlest but mightiest.

We are watching this upcoming winter storm with you. Every horse has at least a sheet on but we may need to upgrade if it turns to a different scenerio (see below). Rest assured we will be on top of blanket changes if they are needed.

Hi all. Everyone has on a sheet or blanket given this upcoming cold drop and snow.

Also Spring Vet day is April 2nd in the afternoon. Please pm me what you’ld like done for your horse if you can’t be there.

I’d appreciate it if all are vetted for teeth and if needed, treated. This ensures your horses dental abilities are assessed, addressed and we can adjust feeds appropriately.

With this abrupt change in weather, everyone has a rainproof sheet on. The older guys have some fill in theirs. Will monitor and increase fill as needed with rain turning to snow with temp drops.

We will be monitoring each horse and their response to this extreme cold front coming in. We will double, even triple blanket if needed. We’ve got extra blankets as back ups so everyone will be warm enough. We will also be feeding extra hay to keep that hindgut generating heat internally. Reach out with any concerns or questions. Stay warm all!

Another night of upgrading blankets for the temp drop and winds and extra hay. All horses looked appreciative. Stay safe and warm! It’s only going to be awful for a smidge.

Everyone has on their winter blankets for this cold snap. Extra hay too. Salt blocks and heated water. Stay warm you all!

We have added four posts to the winter paddock and will be hanging full bales in slow feed nets. The posts will be lit by soft blue solar lights. We are hoping to lengthen the time that the horses have feed. It’s a bit of an experiment as everyone is thriving on our current feed rate of three times/day. If anyone declines we will go back to our old schedule.
