Today, we recognize the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and celebrate local organizations like Visions in Motion that help create more inclusive communities. Visions in Motion is a valued community partner of the City of Elk Grove, including the Elk Grove Police Department and Elk Grove Animal Services.
Through their dedication, participants make meaningful contributions while gaining valuable skills, building confidence, and fostering connections within our community. As one of the community partners in FlyFit, Visions in Motion helps connect EGPD staff with individuals with different abilities to learn from one another, build bridges, and forge friendships. They also help build community and boost morale through annual holiday gatherings and thoughtful acts of kindness for local officers.
This year alone, the Visions in Motion team has contributed nearly 400 service hours at Elk Grove Animal Services, supporting daily shelter operations through tasks such as washing dishes, doing laundry, organizing donations, and assisting with other essential behind-the-scenes responsibilities. Their commitment has made a meaningful difference for our staff, our shelter pets, and the community we serve.
