Our shelter dogs would love the chance to get out and enjoy a day of adventure, fresh air, and one-on-one attention. Whether it's a walk in the park, a trip for a pup cup, or simply relaxing together, your time can make a huge difference in a dog's day.

Dog Day Out gives our pups a break from the shelter, helps them build confidence, and provides valuable information about how they do in a home and community setting.

Pick up your dog between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and spend the day exploring together. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a visit to a dog-friendly coffee shop patio, or simply relaxing at home, these outings provide enrichment, socialization, and a chance for our dogs to experience life beyond the shelter. 💛

📋 Important Information:
• Participants must be 18 years or older.
• All dogs must be returned to the shelter by 4:00 p.m.
• Dogs must remain leashed and properly restrained at all times, including while riding in a vehicle.
• Do not allow your Dog Day Out dog to interact with other animals.
• Avoid places where multiple dogs gather, such as dog parks and pet stores.

Every outing helps our dogs learn, grow, and shine. We hope you'll spend a day making a shelter dog's day a little brighter! 🐶

Every month for more than a year we receive a package that includes paper towels, puppy pads, p**p bags and snacks for the staff.

We have no idea who sends it but we appreciate you so much.

Yesterday we got a visit from some of the A-Team members of John Hardin High School's FFA group !

FFA camp kicks off next week but first they got to come by for a special tour of the facility and we got to teach them a little more about the animal welfare programs that we have.
During the tour they got to meet our veterinarian and even witness a spay surgery from start to finish which was an awesome learning experience as many of the students are planning to venture into the veterinary field themselves.

We are so glad that you were able to join us and we got answer questions for those that will be shaping the future !
