📣Important Health Update for Pet Parents🐾
As we move into the busy summer season, we want to make pet parents aware that there has been a seasonal increase in canine respiratory illnesses among social dogs in our area. This is something commonly seen during periods of weather changes, increased travel, and higher levels of dog-to-dog interaction.
Symptoms may include:
• Dry cough
• Sneezing
• Runny nose
• Mild lethargy
• Decreased appetite
While vaccines such as Bordetella can help reduce the severity of illness, they do not prevent every strain of canine respiratory illness.
At Playful Pups Retreat, the health and safety of the dogs in our care remains our top priority. We continue to follow our thorough cleaning, disinfecting, air quality, and wellness monitoring protocols, and any dog showing symptoms while in our care is immediately separated from group activities and sent home.
We kindly ask that any dog experiencing coughing, sneezing, or respiratory symptoms remain home from daycare, boarding, grooming, and training until symptom-free for at least 7 days.
As always, we believe in open communication, education, and partnering with pet parents to help keep our canine community healthy and safe.
Please contact us with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your continued trust in our team.💗
