Woof Valley in Elizabethton is seeking an Experienced Dog Groomer to join our company. The ideal candidate for our grooming position will have at least 1 year prior grooming experience, their own clippers, shears, brushes, combs, force dryer, nail clippers and nail grinder. A candidate with a well-established client list of loyal customers that will follow them to their new location is a plus. A love and patience for dogs, great customer service skills, the ability to work well with others and be part of a team are a must. A Woof Valley groomer must always demonstrate professionalism while providing a safe, clean and organized work environment. Candidates will be asked to provide references, share publicly available social media profiles to show photos of previous grooms and how they've advertised themselves as a professional groomer in the past on social media as part of our background review process. Responsibilities
Provide grooming services including bathing, ear cleaning, brushing, deshedding, clippering, sc******ng, nail trims and styling for various breeds of dogs.
Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences.
Always demonstrate strong customer service skills to build rapport with pet owners and ensure satisfaction.
Use appropriate grooming tools and techniques to ensure the safety and comfort of each pet.
Able to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area. Sanitize all equipment regularly.
Handle animals gently and securely during grooming sessions, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques.
Stay updated on grooming trends and techniques to provide the best service possible.
Able to keep a dependable schedule without rescheduling clients unless in the case of an emergency.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
At least 1-year proven experience in pet grooming.
Knowledge of animal behavior, health and handling.
Strong knowledge of dog breeds and coat types.
