This all started with one girl. One girl who came to me wanting an opportunity. The sad thing is, that one girl doesn’t even ride anymore. The beautiful thing is, look at the relationships that have developed, the partnerships that have flourished, and the memories that have been created as a result of this saddle club.

As a kid, open shows were all I could afford with my Dairy Queen salary. I poured my heart and soul into those shows like I was at the Congress or headed to a World show. It was my opportunity, my moment to do what I love. I wanted to offer that same opportunity to the East Tennessee community, and I hope this show series brought you the same excitement and happiness that those open shows brought me as a kid.

I had no prior show management experience before this series, so if you’ve been with us since year 1, I truly appreciate your patience! We have changed so much, for the better in my opinion, and I am proud of what this show has become. Unfortunately, given my recent move to pursue my dreams, the Appalachian Saddle Club will no longer operate.

To Bill and June, thank you for opening up your arena gates to this saddle club and giving your all on show day. This thing couldn’t have operated without the both of you. Our friendship is something I truly cherish. If you move forward with a new show series, I know where you can find a judge 😉

To Christine St. John, thank you for being willing to offer your cattle. They have been confidence builders for both horse and rider, and definitely added a uniqueness to our show series.

To all of our judges and volunteers, your dedication made each show a success. Believe me when I say, I think we had the best judges and helpers of any show in East TN. Thank you for the countless hours spent on the show grounds.

To the ASC family, don’t stop here. Keep showing. Whether it be at a new series here at Evening Breeze, or across state lines to try something new. The show pen is where you test your partnership with your horse and grow as a horseman. Without competition, there is no progress.

We will host a costume class, as well as a freestyle ranch reining class AFTER class 25 and BEFORE flag work.  The costume class is free to enter, and the freestyle ranch reining will be a $20 entry fee (payback to 1st , 2nd , and 3rd place).

Please send your song selection for the freestyle ranch reining to this page no later than October 30th!

Sorry for the delay! Below are your updated points standings for each division. We do expect to have buckles at our last show of the season on NOVEMBER 1st, so please be sure to attend! We will be keeping points updated throughout the show and will announce the winners of each division at the conclusion of the event.

WE WILL HAVE A COSTUME CLASS AND FREESTYLE REINING AT OUR LAST EVENT OF THE SEASON! Please PM this page with your song selection if you choose to do the freestyle. Your freestyle routine must include the following:

✅At least 2 spins EACH direction
✅At least 1 lead change EACH direction
✅At least 1 small slow and 1 large fast EACH direction

*Routines must not be longer than 4 1/2 minutes.
