**Adoption Opportunity**
Meet Charlie. He is a handsome 6.5-year-old Pittie mix with a lot of love left to give.
Sadly, Charlie’s owner passed away while he was boarding with us last month. The owner's immediate family has chosen not to pay or pick him up, leaving Charlie stranded in our care for the last 40 days.
Charlie is a project dog. He came to us highly nervous and was very slow to socialize with our staff. While he has softened over the last month and is now much easier for us to manage, he still needs a patient, structured environment.
Charlie is fixed. We don't know how he is with children, but because of his nervous nature, he really needs an adult-only home or one without young kids. When it comes to other dogs, he’s selective. He can get along with some, but he requires slow, controlled introductions, and he won’t be a good fit for every dog. If you already have pets, a meet-and-greet is absolutely mandatory.
We have spent the last month trying to place Charlie through private outreach without success. He needs an experienced handler who understands nervous dogs and is willing to give him the time and boundaries he needs.
