Big Announcement!
You know the saying, every cloud has a silver lining…well, due to the loss of our lease/purchase agreement on our current property, we have moved to the absolutely beautiful Bit by Bit Farm in Elgin, TX.
I couldn’t be more excited about this!! I will be heading up the beginner program and helping support Kim Snyder (owner/trainer) and Linda Crothers (trainer) around the farm and when travel takes them away to horse shows.
The chance to work with and learn from these two accomplished horse women is a dream come true! Their vast knowledge of training horses, coaching riders and all things ā€œhorseā€ has lead them and their horses and riders to much success in the show ring!
I am so excited for my current students and horses too! Bit by Bit Farm is a beautiful 100 acres of rolling hills, covered in gorgeous grass and trees. The facility is lovely with a huge, lighted, sand arena and adorable red barns and shed rows. Kim has done a great job adding an ā€œAustin Aestheticā€ to the property and loads of planters full of beautiful flowers! The views are gorgeous! It is fantastic!!!
I have known many of the current Bit by Bit riders and their families for years from all of our time together at horse shows. They are wonderful people! The Bit by Bit barn family is very warm and welcoming and I am so excited to be a part of it!
I know the horses are going to be very happy in this horse paradise and I am so excited about all the growth my students will experience in their abilities and knowledge and I am super excited about growing the beginner program at such an amazing farm.
Thank you Kim for this fabulous opportunity! Here is to 2025! May it be the best year yet!

The Picadilly Team had a wonderful 2024 show year!!!
I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what a great year we had! We are not a big, fancy facility. We ARE a wonderful, small barn family full of dedicated riders and wonderful horses on a humble property and with that dedication we managed to get it done!

Very true!

A small stab in the heart is what you feel when you put up the day's riding list and you see riders sinking heavily in their shoulders when reading which horse they are assigned for the lesson. A small stab in the heart for that horse that for an hour will carry around a rider who has already decided that he does not like his horse. A small stab in the heart for the horse that did not choose the rider himself but still does his best, lesson after lesson.

Riding is a privilege and something you have chosen to do. If you chose to ride at a riding school, your instructor assumes that you actually want to learn how to ride. The instructor's highest wish is that you get good at it.

Often there is a plan and a thought as to why you are assigned to that exact horse. Before you mount up next time, ask yourself "what can this horse teach me today?" All horses have something to give, a feeling or a new tool in the box.

The art is actually in being able to get a lazy horse to move forward, to get an uncertain horse to gain confidence, a naughty horse to focus or a tense horse to be released. It takes work. If you think a horse is boring, it's more likely that you don't ride the horse as well as you think! It's not easy to be confronted with your own shortcomings, but it is in that very situation that you get the chance to truly grow as a rider.

The excuse that "it's not my kind of horse" is actually a really bad excuse. A good rider can ride any kind of horse. A good rider has trained many hours on different types of horses to become a good rider. A good rider can find and manage the gold nuggets in every horse.

If we absolutely want to ride, it is our duty to strive to do it as best as possible, even if it's only for fun. We owe it to every horse that carries us upon it's back.

Copied and shared with love for all of our horses, ponies and riders šŸŽā¤šŸŽ
