Even with the temperatures making it feel like fall, the fleas and ticks are still out. We recommend year-round flea/tick and heartworm preventative for all of our friends that are outside for any period of time.

This week we celebrate all of the wonderful technicians and assistants that make a veterinary hospital possible. From making sure surgery patients are prepped, doing well under anesthesia, and recover well to snuggles and making patients feel comfortable for new experiences, our girls do it all. We love our techs and assistants and couldn't do this without them. Today our techs give their best advise to pet owners both new and experienced alike.

Dr. Frank has been testing out some new sleeping spots around the clinic and Snuggles has been joining in on the fun too. We don't think they look comfortable but they must be in a cat's world. Dr. Frank has also wanted us to remind you that all cats need plenty of spaces to sleep or just relax. What is your cat's favorite place to chill?

UPDATE: Owner located
This gentleman was found by a Good Samaritan by the Norway Lutheran Church outside St. Olaf with a dead GPS tracker on him. If you know who this nice boy belongs to please direct them to the Clayton County Sheriff’s Department to be reunited.

Today we said goodbye to our sweet Queen Bee. She was a ray of sunshine to all of our clients and staff at Valley Vet Clinic. She came to us as a rescue just over a year ago and stole the hearts of everyone who met her in her golden years. It will be even quieter in Valley now, but she will be pain free running across that rainbow bridge. Rest in Peace Queen Bee.

As our days turn into beautiful fall mornings, fleas and ticks can still be out in the cooler temperatures. We recommend year round prevention for all of our dogs and cats that love to play out in the great outdoors.

This coming weekend there will be no doctor available on Saturday, October 3rd from 7:30 am until the following morning. If there is a small animal emergency, our answering service will direct you to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital. If there is a large animal emergency during that time, our answering service will direct you to call Postville Veterinary Clinic. Thank you for your understanding.
