Shipping live animals comes with challenges, and winter makes those challenges even greater. While it may not be cold everywhere, many areas experience temperatures that make safe shipping impossible. As a small, home-based business, I prioritize the well-being of the animals above all else.
Whatβs frustrating is that instead of taking the time to read the banner or FAQ, some people blindly place an order without understanding the terms. Instead of reading the shipping policies clearly stated at checkout, they rush through the processβthen complain when their order doesnβt arrive immediately.
To be clear, the terms at checkout state:
Orders may require up to 2 weeks for processing and shipping from the purchase date.
Shipping times for pre-orders and orders to Canada may vary.
By completing a purchase, you accept these shipping timeframes.
If you choose to cancel during this period, any refund will be issued as store credit.
Another reality of shipping live animals is that, while it doesnβt happen often, DOAs (Dead on Arrival) can occur. Itβs an unfortunate part of the process, and while not every order qualifies for a live arrival guarantee, I still offer a replacement when possible. I donβt have to, but I doβbecause I care about my customers and the animals.
One thing to make clear: We do not play the βcustomer is always rightβ game. We use logic. If an order is delayed due to weather, illness, or any valid reason outlined in our policies, that is not a failure on my partβit is responsible business practice. If you cannot accept the realities of live animal shipping, unpredictable weather, and processing times, then live animals may not be the right choice for you.
I will always prioritize the safety and well-being of the animals first.
