We were honored to host employees from John Deere for our first-ever corporate event this week. At ELK Ridge, we are passionate about connecting people with the animal and appreciating a hard day's work on the farm, so to share that with others was special! Employees got to learn about horse boarding as a business and horses as an animal, as well as drive a 5E3-cylinder tractor and get hands-on with some day-to-day work on the farm. 💚💛🐴

ELK Ridge Farms is closed for an event all day on Monday, October 17th. We've closed two days over the past two years and don't do this often. We appreciate your understanding ♥️ The farm will reopen at 6 p.m. that evening.

We love summer around here but is there anything better than a whiff of fall in the air? We are so excited fall is officially here! 🍁🍂 As we watch the apples ripen, I know the horses on the farm are just waiting for their humans to bring them their first tasty treat of fall right from the tree. 🍎 How about them apples! 🍏

A long weekend is here, and you know what that means... more time to ride! 🏇 ELK Ridge Farms offers an indoor arena and large outdoor riding area, with plenty of quiet gravel roads surrounding us to ride out on as well. To quote Winston Churchill, "No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle." ♥️

School's back in session, and not just for the humans! 🤓📚 Today we wanted to highlight our "kindergartener” Finley.💕Ms. Finley is a two-year-old filly on the farm and has started under saddle after a lot of hard work put in by my daughter Lindsey, Robin and Barb Gerbitz, both excellent trainers! One of the joys I have on a family farm is seeing my baby 👩🏽 raise her four-hooved baby 🐴💕 So fun to watch this beautiful filly grow up!

We frequently get asked about our name, ELK Ridge Farms. To reflect the tie our family has to the land, farm, and each other, we named the farm ELK Ridge. ELK stands for our three beautiful children: Emma, Lindsey, and Kade. Family is at the core of all we do, and we want everyone who sets foot on the farm to feel like that - family! 🤗♥️

While we love a good ⚾️ baseball game in a picture-perfect Iowa field, this is our field of dreams. 🐎🌅 We pour our heart and soul into this beautiful farm and love each and every one of the animals and their humans that call it home!

Views like these never get old! 😍 Did you know ⏰ our family lives on site. For our Elk Ridge Farm Fam this means peace of mind, and for me, it means I never stop thinking about the beautiful horses we have here and can (and do!) run out to check on them at all hours. 🥰🐎 These horses have my heart! ♥️
