We disappeared for a while.
No signal, no schedule—just the hush of trees and the shimmer of water.
Mornings with coffee by the fire,
bare feet in the dust,
sunlight on our faces,
and the easy laughter of kids making campground friends.

I didn’t take many pictures—just a few quiet moments by the creek—but we lived the rest with both hands and open hearts.

Now we’re home, the air smells like summer,
and the farm stand is calling.
It’s almost ready.
We can’t wait to welcome you soon.

A rainy day calls for a slow morning on the porch with a cup of tea or coffee in hand. ☕🌧️ This sweet little spot is perfect for watching the rain fall and soaking in the peaceful charm of the cottage.

And just across the way, that red building in the background? That’s our farm stand! Soon, guests will be able to take a short stroll over to grab fresh blooms, produce, and more — all grown just steps from your stay. 🌿🌼

We came prepared—list in hand, ready to pick up a few friends for Chanel and her new chicks.
But somewhere between the peeping and the puffballs… the math got fuzzy. 🐣➕🐥➕🐤 = 🤷‍♀️

(Okay, okay—not all of these babies are ours. Some are for friends. We just had the brooder ready… and apparently, also the self-control of a soggy cracker.)

We have babies! As of now, there are five fluffy little chicks in the nest. Our sweet Chocolate Orpington, Chanel, is proving to be the gentlest, most attentive momma. We’re thrilled to welcome these new additions to our flock!

With all of the hustle around the new shed, I have neglected to share some of our recent excitement on the farm. This big broody momma has been on the nest for 21 days as of this morning. We’ll post another update later today! 🤗🐥

She’s here!! Our farm stand shed was delivered today, and we’re one step closer to opening the Four Loves Farm Stand! We’ve poured a lot of love into this dream, and we can’t wait to share the fruits (and flowers!) of our labor with you. Opening soon — and we mean it! 💐🍅

Sunday well spent 💦☀️
We turned the garden into a battlefield today with a full-on water balloon fight — laughter, squeals, and soaked clothes all around. The perfect way to cool down and soak up some joy. 💚🌿

This little garden of ours is a family affair. 🌱

Most days you’ll find these two out here with me—pulling weeds (or at least attempting to 😄), worm catching, counting roly polies, spotting birds, and asking a million questions about how things grow. It’s messy, it’s noisy, and sometimes it takes three times as long to get anything done—but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

This farm isn’t just about growing food. It’s about growing together—learning, noticing, getting our hands dirty, and making memories in the soil.

Here’s to slow mornings, muddy boots, and raising little nature lovers one harvest at a time. 💛

One thing I’ve learned in the last few years of gardening is this: the to-do list is never really done. 🙃
In those early seasons, I ran myself ragged chasing a finish line that doesn’t exist.

These days, I’m still out here most every day, putting in the hours—but the mindset has shifted. I’m leaning more into the art of gardening than the hustle of it. There’s a rhythm to the garden, and learning to move with it rather than against it has made all the difference. Mistakes still happen, and some things inevitably get overlooked, but I always find my way back around.

Instead of trying to do it all at once, I’ve learned to zoom in—to tend one section at a time, and do it well. This week, it was this bed of dahlias and carrots that got a little extra love. A fresh layer of leaf mulch will help lock in moisture, support the soil biome, and keep the weeds at bay.

Getting this area cleaned up for a new season at the farm. Just wanted to show that chemicals do not have to be the solution. This took 6 gallons of distilled white vinegar (from Sam’s - $18 total) and a few tablespoons of dish soap. These are the results after 24 hours!
