🐶 Meet Chestnut 🐶

Hi! I am Chestnut! I am a male terrier mix pup who is 1 year old. I made a long trip to my foster family’s home from Texas.

My foster family would describe me as a curious, energetic, smart and lovable puppy. I enjoy couch cuddles, zoomies in the backyard, playing fetch and tug of war.

My foster family thinks I will do well with a family with other furry pets because I like to play with other dogs, but I wouldn’t mind being your one and only pup.

I love meeting new people and new dogs and I am very friendly. I have done well with small children but don’t live with any.

I am very smart and I learn quickly. I know commands, like “Sit”, “No”. “Wait” and “Down.”

I do get excited very easily and love to jump on you but its my playful nature and I will settle if you give me attention.

I am fully potty trained with frequent potty breaks outside. I am also crate trained and sleep peacefully all night in my crate. I will also take naps in my crate if there is a soft blanket in it.

My foster family loves me lots but they will be overjoyed to see me with a family that can provide me a loving home along with the time and attention I need.

🐶 Meet S’more! 🐶

Meet S’more, the sweet boy with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This Texas-born pup is settling into Midwest life beautifully—and he can’t wait to play in that fluffy stuff everyone keeps telling him about… snow! ??

S’more has mastered potty training and already knows several commands, including SIT, GENTLE, OFF, and COME. He’s still a growing pup who sometimes forgets his size—especially when wrestling with kids or his sibling, Ginger Snap—but he’s learning every day to be mindful and gentle.

He’s also working hard on staying calm and focused during walks and is making fantastic progress. He’s officially shifting from “reactive” to “curious,” taking in the world with more confidence and ease.

S’more would thrive in a home with kids and other dogs. He hasn’t met any cats yet, so that part is still a mystery. One of his sweetest traits is how protective and gentle he is with his 1-year-old foster brother, yet he knows how to play more rambunctiously with the older foster kiddos—he truly understands when to be soft and when it’s okay to play.

When he’s not in playful puppy mode, S’more transforms into a major snuggler. He loves movie nights, happily curls up next to his foster mom, and actually watches along! He’s crate-trained, knows when it’s bedtime, and goes into his crate willingly with a little treat motivation.

S’more is the perfect mix of playful, loving, and smart—a loyal best friend in the making and the perfect addition to a family ready for love, laughs, and plenty of cuddles.

Ready to make S’more part of your family? He can’t wait to meet you—and maybe experience his very first snowfall with you too!

CALLING ALL HOUND LOVERS! URGENT - FOSTER or FOSTER TO ADOPT Home Needed!

🐶 Foster Needed: Meet Leo (aka “Little Buddy”) 🐶

Leo is the perfect little Beagle in need of a foster home — and once you meet him, you’ll understand why we call him Little Buddy. 💛

Leo is about 1½ years old and weighs 22 lbs (even though his pictures sometimes make him look bigger than he really is!). He’s crate-trained and sleeps soundly through the night — usually with his tongue adorably hanging out while he snoozes. On weekends, if you sleep in a bit too long, he’ll politely let you know it’s time to wake up with the cutest little Beagle howl. 😉

He’s 99% house-trained — for a Beagle, he’s impressively quiet and rarely barks. Any accidents have simply been from missing his subtle cue of sitting patiently by the door.

At mealtime, Leo does an adorable happy dance while waiting for his food, then politely waits for the other dogs to finish so he can “help” clean their bowls. 😂

Leo loves snuggling with his humans and gets along beautifully with other dogs and cats. He currently lives with two senior dogs and just can’t understand why they don’t want to play. He entertains himself with toys and chew bones, but he would love a younger dog buddy — or a home where someone is around often to give him the attention he craves.

🐾 Cats: Very respectful — no chasing or pestering
🐾 Leash walking: Doing well, though cold weather has limited walks
🐾 Personality: Sweet, gentle, affectionate

Leo can be a little unsure at times, and we believe someone wasn’t very kind to him earlier in his short life. Despite that, he’s gaining confidence every day. With a little patience and a whole lot of love, he will quickly become your best “Buddy.”

💙 Medical Update:
Leo was sadly discarded in Texas and was found to be heartworm positive. He has completed his antibiotics and heartworm treatment injections. He just needs a low-energy, rest-focused foster home until January, after which he’ll be ready for adoption.

✨ Fostering with Safe Haven:
Safe Haven provides supplies, food, and vetting — you provide the love.

If you can open your heart and home to this sweet little Beagle while he finishes healing, Leo will repay you with snuggles, smiles, and that silly tongue-out sleep face. 🐾💕

Please email [email protected] if you would be willng to open your home to this sweet boy.

🐶 Meet Moose 🐶

Meet Moose, an 85lb, 2 1/2 year old male neutered bully breed with a gental heart. His heart matches his size! It’s hard to believe someone would willingly give him up. Unfortunately for Moose he was along with his 2 other dog best friends.

He is a small dog trapped in a big dog’s body, wanting nothing but endless whispers of “I love you” in his ear while being snuggled. Moose has mastered leaning in for attention for every praise and every ounce of love you give him, he will return it 10 fold.

Moose’s ideal family:

Moose is looking for a family that
Is experienced with a bully breed, and understands their needs. He would be so happy with multiple walks a day, and plenty of playtime. Moose would love to live with other dogs that matches his energy and play style he especially likes the ladies and smaller dogs. He was a playgroup rockstar at the shelter and a perfect gentleman at all adoption events. Moose loves all people and is gentle and affectionate even with small kids.

Moose would prefer to live without cats because he loves them too much and they don’t love him back.

Moose is a very smart boy and a quick learner who is eager to please! He knows to “sit” and “ok” before eating, walks well on a leash despite his size, he does not pull. He is a perfect gentleman when meeting others. He is food motivated, easy to train, and enjoys long walks on the beach at sunset.

Things Moose is fantastic at:

Being a weighted blanket
Snoring
Walking well on a leash
Sleeping on his back
Being a gentleman when meeting others
Big sloppy kisses
Car rides
Sitting on anyone’s lap
Laying in the sun ( I think he is solar powered)
Takes treats very gently
Getting cranky dogs to like him
Neighborhood watch
Playing with others
Kissing his future family kids and adults

🐶 Meet Nash — the happiest little heart-stealer around! 🐶

Is your dog searching for their new best friend? Or are *you* hoping to add a sweet, playful pup to your family? Either way, look no farther — **Nash is the total package!**

Nash is a 6 month old 20-25 pound beagle/hound cur mix who will likely grow into a medium sized pup! Nash came up at 5-6 weeks old very sick with his brothers and moved into a foster home filled with dogs of all ages and sizes and humans as young as 2. He also got time with grandma’s cats and was the perfect gentleman!

This adorable boy loves *every* dog he meets — big, small, shy, bouncy — Nash is ready to play with them all! He is also able to read the room or take correction. He thrives on being part of the fun and never wants to miss out on any doggy adventures.

When playtime’s over, Nash transforms into a professional snuggler. Whether it’s curling up next to another pup or cuddling with his favorite human, he’s happiest when he’s close to someone he loves. 💤🐾
He is gentle and respectful of kids and plus very nicely and is happy to indulge in a game of fetch!

Nash is a smart boy and fast learner, he is amazing with his potty training — keeping his crate clean during the day and even making it through the night without an accident! 🎉 Nash also knows “sit, off, touch, down, treat, & no.” He also walks nicely on leash and loves to frequent the local youth sporting events!

Nash’s favorite hobbies include bobbing for ice cubes, chewing on treats and bones, and tagging along for *all* the dog action. He’s playful, gentle, and full of love — truly the kind of pup who brings joy wherever he goes. Nash is a chameleon and could blend into most families and environments. He would love a fenced yard where he can let his nose roam, sniff and embrace his inner hound! He would also love humans and dogs to play with!

If your home (and heart) are ready for a little more wag and a lot more love, Nash is waiting to meet you!

🐶Meet Oreo! 🐶

Who doesn’t love an Oreo? 🐶 My name is Oreo, and I’m an 1-year-old, male, 43-pound mix from Texas.

A Little About Me:
I’m a curious and lovable pup who enjoys watching the world go by—whether it’s people or dogs passing by my foster’s windows. I’m very food-motivated and eager to please, so training me is both fun and rewarding! While I might need a moment to figure out what you’re asking, I’m always determined to get it right.

My Personality:
I’m a bit shy when meeting new people, but once I warm up, I’ll shower you with affection! Physical touch is my love language, and I adore snuggles. I’m also a loyal companion who loves following my foster mom around to see what she’s up to.

My Foster Life:
Other Dogs: I currently live with another dog, and we get along well. Before starting my heartworm treatment, we loved playing chase and tag at the dog park!

Potty & Crate Training: I’m potty trained and sleep soundly in my crate at night without any accidents.
Leash Manners: I’m still learning not to pull on the leash, but I’m improving every day.

Barking: I rarely bark, but if I do, it’s just my way of asking for a little attention.

Unknowns:
I haven’t been introduced to children or cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them. With proper introductions, I’m sure I could adjust.

Could I Be Your Oreo?
If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, and cuddly companion who will be your shadow and your snuggle buddy, I might just be the perfect pup for you! Let’s make 2025 the year I find my forever home. ?

Could I be your forever Oreo?

🐶 Meet Blues Clues (Bluey)! 🐶

Because everyone loves a dog named Bluey! Meets Blues Clues!

Here is your chance to discover the most delightful & lovable companion! Blues is 10 month old spayed female hound? Aussie? Shepard? Mix with a heart still full of puppy enthusiasm. Bluey was a stray and spent 5 months in shelter before being rescued and she has blossomed into an all star dog!

Medium size, 40 ish lbs - an ideal size for snuggling and sharing the bed and she is portable!! She does well in the car and would be happy to explore or even go camping! Bluey is a sweet girl, extremely adaptable to new situations, she navigates change with ease.

Blue is beyond smart and has already graduated A Sound Beginning positive reinforcement basic obedience class and would love to continue her training there - canine good citizen, rally or more! She was a very quick study and eager to learn! She is intelligent and no ordinary dog, she was even trying to train her foster for extra treats at class! This smart girl is fully potty trained, for an easy transition to her forever home. She shares a home with other dogs and school aged kids and is mindful and plays very well, she has also been gentle with puppies at events. She reads a room well knowing when to hit the pause button or go full turbo mode! She has been sucessful and thrives in various social situations. She loves being outside, enjoying games of fetch and exploring the surroundings. A fenced yard would provide the perfect space for exercise and play but will need to be tall because Bluey is equal parts sweet and athletic!

Bluey is alert and responsive meaning she likes to watch and hunt critters that she may like to chase. Cats, squirrels, and chipmunks but she can be redirected with love, patience, and treats!

At the dog sitters and adoption events, she shines, making new friends with ease. Leash walking manners have come a long way and she is making wonderful progress. As with anything, with patience and practice she will yield great results.

Her favorite pastimes include playing with stuffies, chewy toys, and bones. Things that squeak are her absolute favorites! Shes a young pup yet, and is still working on resisting the occasional shoe, but habits take time to break and with time this will go away. If she has a good tasty selection of bones, toys or your attention she will leave your valued items alone.

She sleeps well currently in a gated area with an open crate, and is doing well when left alone half day or more home alone.

If you have a huge heart, love to play and have another dog &/or kiddos Bluey would be your perfect match!

🐶 Meet Fred: Your Loyal, Goofy Gentle Giant 🐶

Fred is a 1-year old ( on 12/12) , 70-pound pup with a heart as big as his paws! He’s still figuring out just how large he is, so he’s best suited for a home with older kids and big-dog companions who can match his energy and play style. Small dogs often find his enthusiasm a bit… overwhelming.

Fred recently graduated the “Building Blocks” class with A Sound Beginning Program . This class is to help teenage dogs improve socialization and be comfortable in new situations. He already learned all basic commands as well!

Fred is fully potty trained, sleeps like a champ in his crate, and will trot right in when you say, “Fred, crate!” Often will go into his crate on his own to relax. He loves being near his people and is incredibly loyal, but he’s not much of a cuddler—more of a “loyal shadow” than a lap dog. That said, belly rubs are his absolute favorite, and he’ll happily flop over for one any chance he gets.

He’s a smart, food-motivated learner who already knows sit and lay down and is picking up new skills every day. Leash walks are a work in progress—he’s strong, curious, and will happily pull toward a butterfly just to admire it. Fred can be reactive on a leash when he sees other dogs—something we’re actively working on. With proper, slow introductions in a neutral space (off leash), he has settled in beautifully with the two resident dogs in his foster home and respects their boundaries.

Fred also travels like a pro—he loves car rides and will happily settle in for the journey. He would thrive with an active family, a yard to stretch his legs, and a confident canine sibling to play with. If you’re looking for a loyal, smart, and goofy young dog who will keep you smiling, Fred might just be your perfect match!

🐶 Meet Etson! 🐶

Etson, fondly called Eddy or Mr. Wiggles by his foster Mom, is a 10 month old, 40 lb, lab bully mix from Texas.

Eddy is an adventure loving, playful, love bug! He loves bully rubs and affection! He loves riding in the car, playing with his toys, going on walks and giving kisses to everyone he meets.

Eddy has met young kids on walks and done well, but doesn’t currently live with any. He hasn’t met any cats, but he does like to chase some bunnies and squirrels on walks so may not do well with cats.

He lives with another dog in his foster home and they love running and playing together in the yard. Fetch is one of his favorite games. When his foster brother gets tired Eddy is happy to play with his stuffed toys. Throwing them in the air and wrestling with them. Or he’s happy to chew a bone in his crate.

Eddy is working on potty training, but does sleep through the night in his crate with no accidents.

Eddy loves, loves food. His body vibrates with joy during his sit before eating.

If you are looking for a sweet, playful, outgoing companion Eddy might be the perfect fit for you.

🐶 Meet Isabella 🐶

Isabella (but you can call me Bella) | 2 y/o | 50 lbs | Looking for my forever +1

Hi, I’m Bella — a sweet, soulful Black Mouth Cur mix with big eyes, a bigger heart, and a strong cuddle game.

My story started out sad, I was pulled from a Texas shelter about a year ago after having a litter of puppies. A rescue took my puppies but left me behind and I was on the euthanasia list for length of stay after raising my puppies, Safe Haven jumped in and saved me! I am about 2 years old, spayed, and currently crashing with a lovely foster family while I search for my happily-ever-after!

Likes:
• Long walks in the neighborhood
• Cozy nap sessions
• Quiet nights in with my humans
• Kids! I live with two awesome girls (ages 8 and 12) and they’re my favorite playmates. I’ve also lived with younger children and did fantastic!
• Treats, chew toys, and gentle encouragement

Dislikes:
• Sudden introductions — I can be shy, especially around men. I warm up with time, patience, and trust (ladies and kids, I’m all in from day one).
• Being rushed — I’m not into speed dating. Let’s take it slow and build something real. (I need slow intros with other dogs but am sharing my foster home with a smaller male dog).

About Me:
I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and polite when left alone (no wild parties while you’re at work — I promise). I get along well with my small dog foster brother, though I’m still figuring out playtime etiquette. I might be a little bigger than I realize… oops.

I’m looking for a calm, loving home where I can continue growing in confidence. Bonus points if you have a fenced yard, a warm couch, or a kid or two who loves to snuggle.

Looking For:
A patient, kind human (or family) who sees beyond my shy side and is ready for a loyal companion to love forever. If you’re into slow-burn love stories with a big-hearted leading lady — swipe right.
