Many of you have asked about Olivia, the pup that was injured in Sunday’s animal cruelty case.

She is recovering at the Sherman Animal Shelter and is doing well. She will remain under care for at least another two weeks as she heals.

Olivia is not currently available for adoption as she continues to recover.

As you can see, Olivia did lose an eye. Despite everything, the staff says she continues to show a sweet temperament.

We’ve seen an outpouring of support from our community, with donations of toys and food brought to the shelter specifically for her.

We appreciate the support and will continue to share updates as they become available.

UPDATE: PENDING ADOPTION!

JoJo has hundreds of interested adopters! He will soon be in a home ❤️

JoJo is a 6-year-old Shih Tzu mix that came to us after his owner recently passed away… and you can feel that loss in the quiet way he stays close, in how he looks up at you, as if he’s still trying to understand where his person went. He was loved. Deeply loved. And now he’s learning how to start over. 🐾

Right now, JoJo may seem a little shut down and confused—and that’s completely understandable given everything he’s been through. But we have a feeling this boy’s personality is just waiting to shine. Once he feels safe and gets his bearings, we think he’s going to show his silly, sweet side and remind everyone just how special he truly is. 💫

Right now, he’s giving some E.T. Vibes but when he first arrived, his coat was a bit unkept. We want to speak to that with kindness—because situations like this often reflect more about what his owner may have been going through than anything else. Many times, elderly or ill owners love their pets with their whole hearts but are quietly struggling in ways we can’t see. Please remember that before passing judgment… there is almost always a story behind it. ❤️

A huge thank you to Lizzie at Downtown Grooming in Clarkesville for donating JoJo the spa day he so deserved. No questions asked when we called. She worked him in immediately. ✂️🛁 And underneath it all was exactly what we knew we’d find—a sweet, deserving little dog who just needed someone to care.

Now JoJo is ready for the next chapter of his life. Someone who will love him just as deeply as he’s been loved before. 🏡

We don’t know much about Jojo’s past, but we do know that we can’t wait to see his future 💕

He will be vetted on Thursday and ready to meet a potential families starting Friday!

Right now we believe that he would do best in a calmer home with dogs his size but will update as we learn more about him 🩷
