Another hero to the rescue of yet another foal! Much like stallions Cognac and Triumph yesterday, stallion Merlin brought this tiny foal to the area of the traps in a likely attempt to find its mother - why else would he come? For his efforts this stallion too was trapped. However Meg Frederick reports to us he jumped the fence and escaped! Stay free Merlin! Thank you Meg for being on the range.
We will be asking the BLM to get the Cattoors under control, it’s all we can do. They get paid by the day, they are gathering hard and fast and being done by noon. Easy money at the expense of the horses. Taking their time to ensure mares and foals stay together should be job #1, clearly it isn’t or they’re just not very good at it. It seems our concerns we voiced over helicopters and the Cattoors were valid, our nightmare coming true.
Foal has been taken to Craig and will be fostered by an experienced foster who has helped SWB foals in the past.
