Max Mandel
Hunter/Jumper Trainer Las Cruces NM

Max hails from the Chicago area but has competed all over the Midwest and the East Coast. He has learned and worked with top Level Trainers through his Career including Liza and Jack Towell, Kent Farrington, Rodrigo Pessoa, Paul and Emil Hendrix.
Max has been successful in the equine industry since a Junior. He competed Grand Prix at 17 as well as winning and placing at many National Equitation Championships.
Max became a professional at 24 yrs old and was successful in the Hunter Ring with top 10 finishes in International Hunter Derbies.
Max has top placings at Grand Prix in Florida, Ohio, Illinois, the Carolinas, and Kentucky to name a few.
Max has coached students to the Grand Prix Level as well as running the IEA Coaching Program at a Private School in North Carolina.
Max’s strengths are establishing a relationship between Horse and Rider to be successful at any level. He focuses on proper equitation and basics to build confidence in a partnership to be able to perform their best on the flat and over fences.
We are lucky to have Max join us in the Desert! Max is available for lessons at facilities in Las Cruces and El Paso. He also has the ability to travel if warranted. Max can do private or group lessons and is available for clinics!!!

We are finally home from two weeks in Flagstaff competing at the Coconino horse trials. So proud of all the riders and ponies! Molly finished her novice full phase 3-day event in fourth place with an amazing cross country day! Kyser finished third in our first training! Honey and Caro finished cross country in third place, but unfortunately honey was not feeling well so she is healing and resting for another day. Amy completed her second and third horse trials in amazing form! Once Luna decides he likes dressage, they will be unbeatable! He is such a machine on cross country, and show jumping! Great job to all the Westgrove Fam!!!!!

Lotte’s debut at Second level! She is getting stronger all the time and loves what she does! We have one qualification done. Wins all around with a 70% and 67.5% at 2nd 3!!!!! So proud of my beastie!!! Thankyou for a fun weekend and yummy champagne! Great Show!!!

Shout out to my little pocket rocket who finished third at the SAZEA EVENT last weekend! Also picked up reserve champion for the open novice from year-end awards! Molly and Teddy also had a great result this weekend, finishing 6th, now they get to look at moving up to novice!!!
