🌿 Sugar Glider Joeys 🌿
Meet two of our newest little ones—a Crèmeino and a White Face sugar glider joey! These adorable siblings officially emerged from the pouch (OOP) on July 4th and have now reached another exciting milestone—they've opened their eyes! 🩷
Opening their eyes marks an important stage in a joey's development. At this age, they become more aware of their surroundings, begin exploring while safely attached to mom and dad, and continue developing the strength and coordination they'll need as they grow. Although they're becoming more curious every day, they still rely heavily on their parents for warmth, grooming, protection, and nursing.
A few fun facts about sugar glider joeys: 🐾 Joeys spend about 70–75 days in the mother's pouch before emerging. 👀 Their eyes typically open around 10–14 days Out of Pouch (OOP). 🥛 They continue nursing for several weeks after emerging while gradually becoming more adventurous. 🌙 Sugar gliders are nocturnal, so most of their activity happens after sunset.
Watching these tiny marsupials reach each milestone is one of the most rewarding parts of raising them. We can't wait to watch these little ones continue to grow and thrive! 💛🤍
