This is an amazing dog that needs a good yard to protect (as well it being fenced). He’s one of the few I’ve been able to watch grow up and truly hope he’ll get his forever home somewhere. Please share this far and wide as he’s been through some interesting adventures, but he’s still a good dog. Hopefully I’ll get to see him sometime from the ground instead of from above before hes adopted 🙂!

Received a wonderful card (and a chance visit briefly with Wrangler’s mom) from the Bett’s family for helping out with his search. He was a tricky one and one that showed our area, just like many others, looks out for each other and helps when lost pets are around.

It seems like forever ago already.

Thank you for the card! Chantay Betts. Your families kind donation has been allocated toward a future add-on for the new drone. In time I’ll share, but for now, thank you!

One of the cutest yet nerve wracking rescues I’ve done was just recently. Fellow Edwardsville resident Jenn Mason, another resident, and myself and taken notice that several groundhogs were roaming out in the open, but no parent was present. After surveillance and consultation with Treehouse Wildlife Center, it was decided to relocate them to the Wildlife Center as more people became curious, the groundhogs were lethargic, and vehicle traffic was not slowing even after placing a few simple safety cones out.

2 were captured easily using a net. One made a slight run for it when I moved for him, but after some detective work, a 4th was found…and was not interested in coming with his family. I had been prepared for this by Treehouse and blocked 2 holes, started with another only to realize it’s too big to easily block! It’s a known fox den, which is surprising they were there instead of foxes. Fortunately the 4th came out after some patient work and off they went to Treehouse!

** PLEASE ** Do NOT attempt trapping or relocating wildlife without consukting with a wildlife specialist!

While I didn’t get to fly the drone, I was driving into town the other day and noticed a loose dog that just gave off the “I shouldn’t be loose” feelings. I fortunately had cheese (string) and apples with me, so I decided to help a dog out. A delivery truck was moving too fast and at first wasn’t slowing or understanding my caution request. I divided my attention and flagged the truck, only to see the spaniel take off aligned with the truck. Fortunately the dog made a dash toward a house, I started to move and saw a homeowner come out.

Apparently that stinker had snuck out twice because he had found a way to dig under the fence. I’ll be dropping some chicken wire off to them so they can use it to deter digging and also found the dog has a collar with a “recall” function that the dog responds to - they just need to know the dog was loose 🙂

What a rescue ;-)

Poor thing needs a lot of love.
Eye In The Sky Thermal Drone Pet Rescue maybe some friends up North can help?

‼️‼️DONATIONS NEEDED FOR EMERGENCY SURGERY‼️‼️

Last night Panini started heavily bleeding and draining infection. This poor girl has been through so much and now she has pyometra, a life-threatening bacterial infection of the uterus. 😢

Nini’s amazing foster mom made arrangements for emergency spay with Dr. Kelly at ACC first thing this morning. Panini is not in good health and we hope and pray she makes it through surgery.

We cannot thank Dr Kelly enough for completely rearranging her schedule last minute for an emergency spay. We are SO grateful!

We are still raising funds for an MRI and spinal tap. We have raised $1000 of the $3400-$5000 estimate. The emergency surgery is a little set back but with your help we can get back on track to raising donations for more testing!

What a busy week. First Odin, then Max. Max, a miniature Aussie made a stroll around a nearby golf course while “mom and dad” were out of pocket. I had fully planned to throw the full resources available to me as he had been on the run since March 25th! I reviewed all the sightings (the family did a great job of getting flyers out, and staying on top of social media as well talking to people around the area - fortunately they didn’t have a sign thief like we did with Odin!)

We had a very good sighting, we found a place to keep away from humans so Max would feel safe. Lisa Lewis and I coordinated the ideal spot for the feeding station. This is monitored by Found A Hound Rescue so a good idea can be formed on when we can arm the trap and catch Max. Apparently we had a variety of wildlife visit, including a neighborhood cat! The trap was armed once the cat made his visit, then trap was armed and the wait began.

I’ve had the pleasure of working a variety of cases, but sometimes the simple “thank you” can make my day!

Special thanks to Terri Kovich for your time, even though you nor I logged any “field” SAR time, this time.
