📢 Proposed Bylaw Changes – Member Review

It’s been a while since Erie Hunt and Saddle Club last reviewed its bylaws (the current version dates back to 2012!). Over the past two years, the Board of Directors has been working hard to carefully review and update them so they reflect the needs of our club today and for the future.

After thoughtful discussion and input, the Board has prepared a set of proposed bylaw changes—and now it’s time for our membership to take a look! 🐴✨

🗳 The vote on the proposed bylaws will take place at the Year-End Banquet this November.

Your participation is so important to ensure that the bylaws continue to support the mission and operations of EHSC.

📣 Important Reminder for All EHSC Members 📣

As part of our ongoing efforts to keep everyone safe and ensure we meet our insurance requirements, we kindly ask that all members notify either our Board Chair, Laura, or Vice Chair, Brittany, prior to using the EHSC grounds located at the corners of Old State Road and Eureka Road in Edinboro.

This includes letting us know:

✅ Who will be riding and when

✅ Who will be the designated grounds person

Your cooperation helps us keep the club running smoothly and safely for everyone — and we truly appreciate it!

We hold a number of horse-related events per summer. In addition to the shows we offer clinics throughout the year, contribute to area charities, support our local Pony Club, Interscholastic Equestrian Association and 4H Club.

How exciting! GoErie.com | Erie Times-News featured an article on Bonnie’s Centurion ride at the Erie Hunt and Saddle Club on August 15th! We too will feature an article in our member newsletter in September. We are so proud of Bonnie and French Vanilla Sky for this monumental achievement and so humbled that it occurred at our facilities during our last dressage show! 👉 If you’re an active member chasing down Year-End Awards, these are your last two chances to log those volunteer hours! Active memberships of one individual require 10 hours and active memberships of two individuals or more require 20 hours to qualify.

🎉🐴 Congratulations to the 2025 Peg Hull Scholarship Recipient – Ashley K.! 🐴🎉

The Erie Hunt and Saddle Club is thrilled to announce that Ashley K. has been selected as this year’s Peg Hull Scholarship recipient!

We received five strong applications this year, each carefully reviewed by a panel of two devoted EHSC advocates. In a rare and exciting moment of agreement, both panelists ranked the applications in the exact same order—proof of the clarity and excellence of this year’s standout candidate.

Ashley’s lifelong dedication to animal care and the equine community is inspiring. From her start as a Cloverleaf 4-H rider with her beloved buckskin paint horse, Halo, to earning her B.S. in Animal Science with a Minor in Equine Science from Penn State University, Ashley has built a career deeply rooted in horsemanship, education, and service. She has worked as a veterinary assistant, barn manager, and now as the owner of Amethyst Wellness Peak Performance, LLC, where she provides equine-focused therapies to support wellness, biomechanics, and performance.

Ashley plans to use this scholarship to further her education in animal studies, continuing her pursuit of certifications in equine science and wellness, including an international diploma in Animal Osteopathy from the London College of Animal Osteopathy.

The Peg Hull Scholarship honors long-time EHSC member and dedicated horsewoman Peg Hull, who left a lasting legacy in our club. This award supports members of any age in their equestrian pursuits—whether through lessons, clinics, educational programs, or other horse-related goals.

We thank everyone who applied this year and encourage all members to consider applying in the future.

💚🐎 Congratulations, Ashley! We can’t wait to see the next chapter of your journey and the continued impact you’ll make in the equestrian world.

💚🐴 A HUGE Thank You from EHSC!🐴💚

We are beyond grateful to everyone who contributed to the Erie Hunt and Saddle Club during Erie Gives Day yesterday! Your generosity helps us maintain our grounds, host quality events, and keep equestrian opportunities alive in our community. We truly couldn’t do it without you!

Now, we’re shifting right into an exciting weekend of horse shows — and we could use your helping hands!

TONIGHT, Wednesday, August 13th at 6:30 PM– we’re setting up two dressage arenas, and extra help will make the work quick and easy.
