Double coated dogs rely on their coats to help regulate their internal temperatures. But an unkept coat can result in mats and packed undercoat which can ultimately turn into mats and your double coated dog now needs to be shaved. Shaving a double coated dog can cause alopecia, your dog’s beautiful silky hair can now be like straw. Also they can’t regulate their temperature and could end up sick. All of this can lead to your dog not being able to regulate their internal temperature. To prevent this please be sure to do the following.
Brush if not daily at least 3-5 times a week with the proper brushes.
Keep your dog on a grooming schedule. We can help keep the coat maintained to keep it and your dog healthy.
If your dog is getting matted or you’re struggling in anyway just call us! We’d be more than happy
to give advice on what we think should be done to help the situation!

Alright everyone I have a client who’s in desperate need of help. This is Bjorne and he’s a German Shepherd mix 1 years old. If we can’t find someone to take him by the 10th he’ll end up in a shelter….he’s a very sweet boy and needs help!
