Did you know that 1% of our Zoetis purchases between February 1st and April 30th, 2025, was directly donated to our local FFA chapter — the Edgewood-Colesburg FFA. This year, that donation totaled $334.07 in support of the next generation of agricultural leaders!

FFA (Future Farmers of America) plays a vital role in shaping the future of agriculture by teaching leadership, responsibility, and hands-on skills that prepare students for careers in animal science, agribusiness, and veterinary medicine. Many veterinarians and clinic staff, including several members of our own Edgewood Veterinary Clinic team, are proud FFA alumni. The lessons learned through FFA — from animal husbandry to teamwork and problem-solving — build the foundation for the compassionate and knowledgeable care we provide every day.

As the FFA Creed reminds us, “I believe in the future of agriculture, with a faith born not of words but of deeds.” That belief is deeply rooted in what we do each day — caring for animals, supporting local producers, and strengthening our agricultural community.

🐾 Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week 🐾

This week, we celebrate the true heroes behind the scenes of veterinary medicine: our Veterinary Technicians.

Vet techs are much more than animal lovers — they are highly trained professionals who wear many hats. From assisting in surgeries and monitoring anesthesia to running lab work, drawing blood, taking radiographs, placing IVs, and educating clients — their work touches every part of the clinic.

They are the steady hands in emergencies, the quiet comfort during tough moments, and the reason so many pets receive the excellent care they need. Whether they’re handling the most technical procedures or taking on the not-so-glamorous tasks, they do it all with compassion, precision, and heart.

What many clients may not see is the emotional strength it takes to do this work. Vet techs are there for the joyful first visits — and the heartbreaking final goodbyes. They support pets and their owners through the very best and hardest moments, and they do so with empathy, professionalism, and dedication.
