Sunday in the lab. The clones from the third Lion's Mane species are growing like crazy! They are about 2 weeks old and all 3 agar plates look great!
I was finally able to get a clean bag of grain spawn for at new mushroom. I'm hoping it continues to grow for production. If it continues to grow and its not contaminated
We should see product in July.
Meet Chicken of the Woods. A bright orange mushroom that mimics taste and texture of chicken meat. It is used as a meat substitute in vegetarian and vegan meals. I'm excited to try this mushroom.
Have a great Sunday everyone.

This little urban indoor farm from a small town in Wyoming is starting to grow. I'm excited to bring these delicious microgreens and gourmet mushrooms to my customers. A few months ago I said that this would be the year of growth for the Vault on 387. It started in Casper at Bakers Market. The next city was Douglas with 307 Prairie Pantry and Douglas Farmers Market. I recently added a fourth location Cross E Dairy and Freedom Foods in Sheridan. All of these places have been wonderful to work with.
It takes a couple of weeks to grow microgreens and a few months to grow gourmet mushrooms. The mushroom racks are now full and production is up. It looks like its about time to add another outlet for the gourmet mushrooms. Who's next?
Hopefully within a couple of weeks you will be able to find my gourmet mushrooms in the razor city. Yes, The Urban Basket in Gillette is next on the list. Keep following for details.
Have a great evening everyone.
Thanks for following along with my dream.

Another busy weekend at the Vault. I keep saying production is up in the mushrooms. I always show the mushrooms and the microgreens growing. Here's a few pictures showing behind the scenes. The racks are full of grain spawn, and production blocks. I'm sterilizing 4 batches of grain spawn a week and pasteurizing 2 batches of production blocks a week.
Production is on the grow now that I have multiple outlets for the mushrooms. Hopefully there will be more outlets soon.
As always if you have questions let me know. If you are looking for a certain type of mushrooms. Ask if I'm growing it, or if I can grow it.
Have a great Monday everyone.
Thanks for following along with my dream.

Saturday was the day. The first hydroponic strawberry was ripe and needed harvested. On the the quality tests. I wasn't sure if the taste would be different being without soil. How would the texture and firmness be affected?
Here's what I found. The color is deep rich red, and the texture was firm. It had good flavor. Ok it tasted great!
This was a simple experiment. Tap water with no PH testing or balancing. I used a simple fertilizer formulated for strawberries. The watering was on a cycle timer. The plants received 18 hours of full spectrum UV light a day. No pesticides or herbicides were used on the plants.
What to do next with the strawberries? Time to ask all of you who are following the page for help. Do I balance PH and adjust fertilizer try to get higher yield out of one tower? Do I build more towers and try different experiments on each tower? What about adding hydroponic strawberries to my product line?
This has been a fun side experiment at the Vault.
Have a great Sunday everyone.

First hydroponic strawberry! Its almost time for the taste test.
