Buddy, aka Louie, had a fabulous time entertaining himself to get our attention today. We were a captive audience to his playful antics! 💜🦜

Meet Max.

Max is a 40-year-old male Blue and Gold Macaw.

Max is a little nervous around new people but once he is familiar and comfortable with someone, he's a pretty cool bird!

Max loves to eat, hang out on his cage and dance, and get all the loving scritches you can offer.

Max will make a great companion for someone with large bird experience. To meet Max, a complete questionnaire is required.

Meet Rio.

Rio is an 8-year-old female Green Cheek Conure.

Rio has been cage-bound for the last several years and as a result, she's a little timid and doesn't really know "what to do" when she's out of her cage. She's learning though and she definitely is loving the freedom.

Rio is a little cuddlebug! She happily cuddles up for scritches and will contentedly allow pin feather help!

Rio is going to make an amazing companion for someone!

Meet Alice.

Alice is a 26-year-old female Blue Front Amazon.

Alice is a hilarious bird and she'll keep you entertained for hours with her antics.

Alice DEFINITELY prefers males to females and she has no problem showing it. Guys can give her all the love and gals can watch from a distance. 🤪

For all of her hilarious antics, Alice is still an Amazon, and like all Amazons, she can be moody and unpredictable.

Meet Sunny.

Sunny is a 9 year old female Jenday Conure.

Sunny doesn't care for little kids but does great with most adults and is incredibly sweet and even cuddly!

Sunny LOVES to sing and dance!

Sunny is a typical conure and can be LOUD so her new humans will HAVE to be home owners with understanding neighbors 😄

"What We Need Wednesday"

Since its Amazon Prime Days, we thought we'd share our Wishlist in case anyone is able to send some supplies our way.

We'd be forever grateful for some more chop ingredients (Quinoa, buckwheat, herbs, flowers, h**p seeds, etc). We've put a link to our Wishlist in the comments.

We want to wish everyone an enjoyable 4th of July and also remind you to keep your Feathered Friends safe and happy during the celebrations!

Parrots have incredibly sensitive hearing, vision, and respiratory systems, so fireworks can be very stressful for them. The bangs and bright flashes can cause anxiety, and the smoke and fumes can lead to respiratory distress.

You can help your bird by setting up a quiet, comfortable room away from noise and lights. Make sure the room is well ventilated. Consider using a sleep cage, which is smaller and easier to move, for this purpose. Place the sleep cage in the quiet room to create a peaceful retreat.

Monitor your bird for signs of distress and get them out of the environment completely if possible.

We love it when our volunteers share their garden with us!!

We had some fun enrichment today, thanks to Stacey and as you can see, Big Boy went right to work!

Enrichment is SO important, especially for the Cockatoos. Adding in natural items, like grapevine, creates a new experience that most "caged birds" don't get to try.
