Sunday photo shoot day. 5 weeks old tomorrow. Where did the time go!!

Seriously though, they're better and more obedient after a run 🤣

When considering adding a GSD into your home, consider if you have the time, space and energy to meet their needs.

I'll admit it's simpler for me because my shepherds have acres upon acres to roam on, and our ranch is a pretty busy place so they have near constant mental stimulation without me having to do much.

Can you have a German Shepherd in town? Yes, if you're willing and able to exercise the dog fully AND willing to give them the mental stimulation they need to thrive. Spoiler alert: occasional walks around your neighborhood isn't going to cut it.

Is it easier on an acerage? 100%.

German Shepherds are absolute athletes and they're like the geniuses in the classroom that get into trouble if not given challenging enough work.

If you've experienced owning a good one, you know what I'm talking about!

Research the breed tendencies for ANY breed before you commit to purchasing one, and ask questions to know the temperament of the specific line from the right breeder.

Then put in the work, the effort and the consistency, and that German Shepherd will be the best dog you've ever had!

When your ten year old wakes up being a turd to every younger sibling, you send him out to play with the Czech puppy who also has the same obnoxious personality after sleeping all night. Match the energy bro.

Almost all the doggos in one photo. Ace the Anatolian doesn't pose, and Leata doesn't get along with the other girls. After this photo everybody minus Leata (so six dogs in total) went on a 3+ mile hike (no leashes, and plenty of random recall and obedience practice here and there!) through the pastures. I mean, except Ace the Anatolian. He does what he wants. 😜

Man, we love the extended fall this year!!!

It's exhausting being cute!

I've been swapping half the litter morning half afternoon for inside the house time. My goal with this is to expose them to all of the sights sounds and smells of a normal household before they're 8 weeks old! And let's be real, my house is anything but average - we have 7 kids ranging from age 2-14! So our home is busier than average. With two of these pups going as potential service dogs, it is crucial to me that I observe them as much as possible to help make
Excellent matches for their desired outcomes!
