Be the change you wish to see in the world ~Gandhi Be the Change Rescue, Inc. is an animal rescue and sanctuary located in Edgar, Wisconsin.

We take in animals in need and do our best to rehabilitate them so they can live happy healthy lives! We focus on horses, dogs, and cats, but we may also have goats, chickens, donkeys, mules, and pigs! We always need help in the form of volunteers, fosters, sponsors, and donations! Another busy day fixing cats on Saturday!!

Thanks again to the vets and techs from Metro Animal Hospital who volunteered their time to help!!

We even had a tiny kitten with a bot fly that needed to be removed. He is too small to neuter but he and his sibling are now in a foster home until they are.

This pretty lady was found near Corning rd and Joe Snow Road in Merrill.

She is very friendly and sweet.

If you recognize her, please message us. For now, she is hanging out with the finder.

We had another productive Sunday fixing barn cats at Metro Animal Hospital. Thanks to the vets and techs, that came in on their day off, we fixed 21 cats!! I am so grateful for their help with this important work!

We were so busy we forgot to take pictures and only managed to get a few.

These two are looking for a patient home.

Graham (long hair) is very sweet once he has a little time to settle in. He is not a lap cat at this time but that doesn’t mean he never will be! He LOVES to play. And enjoys being pet. He gets along well with other cats but hasn’t had exposure to dogs yet. He came from a property where we helped TNR all of their cats. But he was so matted and had horrendous ear mites that we just didn’t want to put him back outside. He will need someone willing to brush him regularly. He has the most beautiful fur and photos never quite do him justice. We believe he’s between 1-2 years old.

S’more is very shy. She will also need a patient person. She would make a great friend for a lonely cat. She gets along great with other cats and will need another cat in her new home. She may never be the cat that wants to be pet, but she still deserves a loving home. She came from the same property that Graham did. She had very bad ear mites/infection and was pretty sick when we got her. We were going to send her back once she was healthy, but the property owner is having difficulties affording to feed the cats they already have. We believe she is around one year-old.

We had a busy weekend fixing Cats at Metro Animal Hospital.

We are helping a property in Mosinee who previously had fixed all of their Cats years ago, but more have found their way in. And they want to do the right thing and prevent more litters.

We fixed and vaccinated 20 cats, one was already fixed and had an ear tip, but we got their vaccines up-to-date, and two were too small to be fixed. They all also got a dose of Nexgard Combo which is a dewormer as well as flea and tick preventative. It also kills ear mites.

We still have more to trap at this property as well as at their neighbor across the road, but we got a good start!

Last night we had to say goodbye to Thunder after a freak accident. We believe he laid down too close to the fence and when he was rolling he got one of his back legs caught in the wire fence. He likely panicked making it worse.

Thunder was the first horse we pulled from a kill pen. When he got here he could hardly walk. They said he did the splits on the sale floor. After a lot of chiropractic care and magnawave he was not just walking but running. he did have something neurological going on, believed to be wobblers, but he got around just fine.

Thunder was an Amish horse. He did not care for people and did not like to be touched or handled in anyway. He did, however, like snacks and would eat those out of your hand.

We had someone reach out to us about helping find a new home for this indoor/outdoor cat. They have to move for work and will have to move into an apartment so they cannot take her with.

Mina is about 4 years old, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

She is very friendly and LOVES humans but she doesn’t particularly care for other animals. She does however, do fine with them while everyone is outside. When inside with other cats there is a lot of hissing/growling but nothing aggressive. She could easily be an indoor only cat as she does enjoy being in the house as well. But she just doesn’t like other kitty roommates.

She will come with her outdoor cat shelter and heating pad if someone wants her to be an indoor/outdoor cat.

Meet Mocha!

This beautiful girl came to us when her owner was moving and wasn’t able to take her with.

She has been in a foster home for a little while now. She is living with 3 adults and 3 young kids, as well as another cat. She prefers the man of the house and hangs out with him during the day in his home office. Her and the other cat pretty much ignore each other.

We were told she has been around dogs in the past and did fine.

She is only 4 years old, spayed and up to date on vaccines.
