UWEC: Behavioral Applications Regarding Canines - BARC Behavioral Applications Regarding Canines (BARC) is an internship program at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in the Department of Psychology.

BARC is a non-profit internship program at the University of WI - Eau Claire in the Department of Psychology. Students in the program implement behavioral training techniques with canines at the local humane association to increase obedience skills and to decrease problematic behaviors, with the ultimate goal of improving the dog's adaptability potential and long-term placement.

Nice story about helping dogs find their forever homes, while figuring out how to be less cynical, more empathetic - something I'm sure we all could be.

An animal shelter volunteer has a dim view of her fellow man, until she starts playing matchmaker for dogs and people.
