What did he eat?!?!

Lovable guy, Rip, came to us because he wasn’t eating and had been vomiting. X-rays were promptly taken (Labradors are notorious for eating things they shouldn’t) and surprise, surprise… there’s something in his intestines that doesn’t belong! 😱

We tried hydrating him with IV fluids to see if he could pass the blockage, but he ended up needing surgery to remove the foreign material. He’s doing so well after surgery and we’re grateful his owners brought him in for help. Can you guess what he ate?!

It’s going to be another hot few days! 🥵 Our patient, Song, has some hot weather safety tips to share if you’ll be spending time outside:

🐾 Protect the paws! Walk on grass, use booties or paw balm when walking on hot asphalt.

💦 Keep hydrated! Bring a bottle of water to offer drinks often.

☀️ Take time in the shade or in water! If an AC break isn’t possible, take a moment to get out of the sun or cool down in a body of water.

🚗 Never leave your pet alone in the car, not even with a window cracked open.
