Hi everyone, this will be the 3rd year that we are doing the Dunrunnin Taxidermy and Clear Water Meats free shoulder mount raffle. This year I’ve decided to spice it up a little. In the past I entered anyone who had a deer processed by Clear Water Meats a contestant with an entry into the raffle, so you had about a 1 in 1800 chance of winning.
This year, only customers who shoot a deer in the special late antlerless season January 2nd-January 12th, will be entered into the drawing. Clear Water Meats will stop accepting deer January 11th at 5pm. This should improve the odds of drawing immensely and support the heck out of our local butcher. Let’s get out there and top off your freezers and manage our doe populations. Thank you all for a great season and your support.

As a Combat veteran of the U.S Army and small business owner who absolutely loves hunting and the outdoors, this year I wanted to start a tradition to continue for the future. Taxidermy and the outdoors have helped me make readjustments back to civilian life after 3 tours of combat.
So this year I would like to start a tradition of giving back. For opening week of gun season, 10% of the proceeds on all mounts sold from November 10th- November 16th will be donated to Outdoor Driven Inc which is a Michigan based 501(c)(3) non-profit that gets veterans, police, fire and first responders into the outdoors by taking them on fishing and hunting trips to alleviate the stresses that come with selfless service. If you don’t have a deer to mount but would still like to make a donation through Dunrunnin Taxidermy, you can find me at Clearwater meats opening weekend, I will have a booth set up. SW Michigan guys or gals! I am looking to hire a couple seasonal skinners for about 2 weeks to assist with caping out deer for a taxidermist. It is hard work but I’m willing to train some people not only for this year but hopefully for a few years to come. Great gig for the outdoorsman, great pay, and a fun environment. Dunrunnin Taxidermy and Clear Water Meats are still kicking butt as we wind down the primary gun season….. guess what, we are both still taking your deer!

With the cold temps and corn being cut, check out those active food sources in the evenings and have a plan to cut them off going to the beds in the mornings.

Don’t forget, when you drop off any deer at Clear Water Meats, make sure you get entered into the free mount raffle, that is one heck of a Christmas present to win!

If you or your hunting partners get a prime looking doe, remember you can still get a back skin tanned by me for $125.
