These three beautiful senior kitties (age 12) are in desperate need of an adopter or long term foster. Sadly, their mommy passed away from cancer and they are have no where to go. If you are able to foster or adopt, please reach out to us via PM or in the comments. All expenses will be paid during their senior years. We know it is kitten season and this is an uphill battle, but please share their story. They are a bonded trio.

We are devastated to hear of the passing of Happy Cat's founder, Chris. Today, there was a tragic fire who took the lives of many of the sanctuary cats along with Chris who desperately tried to save so many of these precious fur babies. Chris dedicated his life to saving many cats and recently had bought land in upstate NY so he could provide a better place for his sanctuary cats. We do not know all of the details of this tragedy, but please PRAY for all of the volunteers and the remaining cats that survived. May you finally rest in peace Chris.

Happy Cat Sanctuary of Long Island, NY specializes in the rescue of cats and kittens from abuse, hoarding, and neglect. Donate today to save a cat's life!

FRIGID temperatures are on the way in just a few days. Please provide outdoor shelter for any cats you are caring for. Refill with more straw if necessary. Lawes in Shrewsbury, NJ has bales of straw.

We know it’s still summer, but it’s time to start thinking about cooler weather soon. 🍂

Don’t wait until it’s freezing outside to come up with a shelter idea. Do it now when it’s much easier to get outside and work on it! 💡We also want to remind you if you currently have shelters, you need to replace last years straw.

Here’s an inexpensive way to provide additional coverage for an outdoor shelter with supplies you may already have around your home.

It's never too early to prepare for winter weather for your stray and feral friends. 🐾

A sad day for a MEOW Inc member who tearfully had to say goodbye to her oldest feral cat. Ava was 17.5 years old and lived her entire life outside with her other kitty friends. Ava was fed 3x a day, had warm shelters to sleep in and luckily lived in an area where she and her friends were safe and very well cared for. These last few months proved to be difficult for Ava, and although she never wanted to come inside, her caretaker was able to bring her inside four days ago before the cold temperatures set in. Ava was not happy, but she was safe and warm. Your momma will never forget you sweet, beautiful Ava, until we meet again run free over that big, beautiful rainbow.

What a GREAT idea for a cat shelter, especially if you have to hide one on your property. We always recommend two holes for an escape route from predators!

McDreamy would love to make your home, his furever home!
Neutered male, 5 months old, up to date on vaccines, negative for FIV/FeLV, and micro-chipped.
He gets along very well with other cats, is non-reactive to cat-friendly dogs, and would be a great fit for a family with time for play!
Please ask us for an adoption application!

It was a team effort this morning with Friends of Squan Cats trying to locate a litter of (6) two-week old kittens before the bad weather coming this Wed into Thursday. Kittens were not in the original location when we arrived because of course mom moved them. Luckily, we found them in the neighbor's yard hidden in a big tree where the bottom was hollowed out. There we found mom with her six kittens. Of course she bolted so we got the kittens to safety and then used them to try and lure mom into the trap. Mom made us WORK for it, 3.5 hours later. All are safe now and will be available for adoption in 6-8 weeks. Love when rescues can team up and work together saving lives!!! See images in the comments : )

Check out Baby Max! Friends of Squan Cats is accepting adoption applications for this little doll. He’ll be ready for his furrever home soon!

We just love ❤️ Mad Max...especially when he's sleeping😹😹😹.

Mad Max is growing into a fine young man! We're still not sure if he can see anything but that doesn't stop him! Max can run and jump and play like the other kitties. He's a superstar wrestler 🤼 taking down his 20lb big brother Mr Bones🤪😹.

Have cats and kittens? Want a fun baby brother to keep everyone entertained? Maybe Max is right for you? He's a special guy and he'll have some "special" needs but there's nothing sweeter than snuggles from sleeping Baby Max🥰. He's the kind of guy who brightens everyone's day...except maybe some of his older kitty siblings😹😹😹.

We'll wait a few more weeks to have his eyes rechecked by his kitty ophthalmologist to see what's next...and sight or not, Mad Max is going to be a great addition to a loving home😻💕❤️

Meow Inc in a Nutshell

MEOW, Inc is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established to help homeless and free-roaming community cats in Monmouth County, New Jersey by conducting Trap, Neuter, and Return (TNR). TNR is the only universally-recognized humane method that effectively lowers outdoor cat populations. TNR is conducted by humanely trapping unaltered feral cats, spaying/neutering them, vaccinating and releasing them back to the same location where they were originally trapped where they can be cared for by a colony caretaker.

While we wish every cat could have an indoor home, feral cats are extremely fearful of humans and consider the outdoors their home as they live in the wild within familial cat colonies. With the right conditions of food, shelter and managed care, these cats can live long and healthy lives surrounded by their feline companions and human caretakers who they form special bonds with over time. Unfortunately, because feral cats cannot be handled by people, they are considered “unadoptable” by animal shelters, leading to heartbreaking euthanasia rates when they enter the shelter system. We fight every day to save cats from that fate.

MEOW Inc does not believe that any cat should be euthanized due to lack of homes or shelter space when there is another viable alternative. TNR is that alternative. It is MEOW Inc’s belief that each and every cat deserves a chance to live a happy and healthy life whether they are homeless or not.

Our mission is three-fold: reducing population, improving lives and promoting awareness. We actively and humanely reduce the homeless and free-roaming cat population in Monmouth County, New Jersey by reducing the number of feral kittens born each year through TNR. We also work tirelessly on the frontlines of animal welfare to improve the lives of homeless and community cats through responsible colony-care management and all that entails. We also promote awareness of pet overpopulation and the importance of spay and neuter through community education.
