Last week, our youngest campers spent their days learning, riding, laughing, and discovering the joy of life around horses.

We’re excited to welcome Katherine Wright to Lake Oconee Equestrian as our English Trainer.

At the heart of Katherine’s teaching is the partnership between horse and rider. She emphasizes quiet communication, balance, and trust, creating an environment where both can learn and grow with confidence.

Katherine’s background in English riding began under U.S. Olympian Colonel John Russell at the renowned Russell Equestrian Center in San Antonio, Texas. She has since continued her education in Hunter/Jumper and Classical Dressage, training with respected instructors in both the U.S. and Europe.

Katherine teaches English lessons for both youth and adults, and we’re thrilled to have her leading our English lesson program.

Today we celebrated someone we’re incredibly grateful for.

If you’ve spent any time at Lake Oconee Equestrian, chances are you’ve met Caroline. She cares deeply for our horses, is always the first to lend a hand, and is someone we’re all lucky to have around.

This morning, we surprised her during a quick birthday celebration with Renee’s homemade cheesecake—her favorite. Then it was only fitting that she spent part of her birthday doing one of the things she loves most: riding Scooter.

Happy Birthday, Caroline! We hope this year brings you as much joy as you bring to all of us. 🧚
