SCM is a 501(c)(3) sanctuary home for unwanted Northern Breed Dogs. This is what Second Chance Mushers (SCM) is all about. I dog sled for FUN! Sarah and the Pups

My name is Sarah, and my life is all about dogs, dog sledding, and making a difference. I run with a dog sled team entirely made out of rescued dogs. Each one has come to me over a period of time and each one with its own reason of being surrendered. There are 25 dogs in my care presently as sanctuary dogs. It's for the dog's enjoyment as well as mine. Each dog lives in my home, they are my family

. It's not uncommon to come to my home and not be able to find a place to sit because the pups only like soft, comfy couches. Second Chance Mushers Rescue is a sanctuary/rescue. Every dog at the SCM home is a rescue dog and all belong to the sanctuary. SCM is a non-profit sanctuary rescue with the hopes of one day having a facility that allows foster dogs for adoption. These dogs are my family and mean the world to me. I like to share our journey through life on this page which may be filled with happiness, sorrow, or laughter. Just hope you all enjoy it as well.

Well, we gave Barktoberfest a shot again. We sadly only have two participants signed up, so I will be refunding the sponsorship money to these two amazing businesses who were willing to take a chance on us.

I will also be refunding the two participants, but I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for wanting to participate 🐾💜

Ohh, boy! The Pirate, pomsky terror Sound is in love 🥰

They are too young for you Sound! The pomsky terror sisters are now smaller than the puppies 😂

The boys have grown like weeds and Miss Elle is a little dainty compared to her brothers. Elle goes home on Sunday 💜🐾

we have the older kiddos food
all cases of canned food are covered
$100 towards our care credit
$25 towards our Fi subscriptions ⭐️⭐️

Ok, going to try something different. 💜🐾 I am going to go one week at a time with our needs to see if that helps to cover us better.

Below each photo is what the Pups need for one week.

We also need 2 bags of prescription food for the Puppies. After discussion with our vet today, and the puppy have already reacted to attempting to switch them over, she still recommends until over a year old for prescription G.I. puppy food.

I also need 4 cases of any wet food on the lists.

Sometimes I’m unable to see the orders as they come through to keep the list updated, so if you happen to order if you don’t mind just commenting below or sending me a private message. That way I can keep track and let people know what else we need to get us through the week.

I would also like to start chipping away at our CareCredit bill. It is currently at $4500. If each week we could put $100 towards our bill to pay it off that would be amazing. You can donate the options in the link above.

And last if we could cover five subscriptions for the Fi dog collars, each well, that would be incredible . Cost would be $100 each week . It would not cover our monthly subscriptions, (I have 33 collars) but it would pay a substantial portion of it. You can use the link above to see our payment options to donate for that.

What happened to Shiloh is on the link below. As many of his “friends” say the story is fabricated, these are the truthful events that took place. He lied to my face about what he did to her off his property. Do you really think a nurse who is trained to find every cut, scrape, or bruise on a human body would miss a bullet hole to her dog’s head? But, yet he calls me the liar.

I have a vet trip tomorrow to get the puppies their Bravecto. Our dose last time was just a monthly, but tomorrow it will be a 3 month tablet. I am using Bravecto due to the puppies came to me with Demodex mite. Dustin and Hopper had areas to their legs affected, but Elle and Hopper did not. To keep everyone protected, I am treating them all to keep them healthy.

It’s not contagious to my group as their immune systems are strong. The puppies came to me in such poor condition, hence why it’s an ongoing battle with their GI tract, their immune system was too weak to fight off the mite. (The mite is not causing the loose 💩. That was just their poor body health and malnutrition)

It’s approx $80/tablet. I have 4 to buy tomorrow.

The 3 Alaskan Malamute boys are now around 8 months old. I have began working on the slow transition to regular puppy food from prescription food, but we are having setbacks. Yes, it’s rationed appropriately to attempt to avoid GI upset.

Thankfully, we still have proviable and I have been using that during the transition. If we can get there. 😂

We are in Michigan, I am not a breeder, I am a rescue/sanctuary for northern breeds that is a non-profit, and I promise the info you would like about each puppy can be found if you click the link to our adoption page where you can find their bio’s. 💜🐾.

We get so many scammers and they come here without clicking the link, so you will have to forgive me if I don’t respond to simple questions that can be answered if they just click the link. 🥰

I apologize for the lengthy post, but it’s been weighing on my mind for the last few days which is why I haven’t had the funny, humorous posts.

There are so many other amazing rescues out there that are doing so much more than I will ever be capable of which is why I wish I could figure out a way to bring in income either from my employment or through the dog treats so that donations can go to them.

Next year, I will get my application in on time for the farmers market, but this past March when they were due, I was still so afraid of the world….. I couldn’t do it. Next year will be better.

I’ve just got us in a little bit of a rut and in time, I always am able to get us out. It just really sucks in the meantime 😂
