Avoid long walks, only take them outdoors in short intervals and always have water handy.

🧀🍎 Do’s ✔️ and Don’t’s ✖️ of Dog Treats! 🍌🥦

Besides store-bought bags of dog treats, your canine friend can also enjoy many of the same foods that we do! Just keep an eye out for many of the “do NOT feed” foods, as these can be dangerous for your pet and cause different health reactions such as vomitting and diarrhea, some may even cause death (like chocolate and grapes)!

Safe fruits and veggies we recommend:

▪️Carrots (high in fiber and Vitamin A)

▪️Celery (freshens breath, has Vitamins A B and C)

▪️Cucumbers (good for overweight dogs as they have little to no carbs)

▪️Green beans (chopped, steamed, raw, or canned)

▪️Sweet Potatoes (cooked and unseasoned)

▪️Sliced apples (excellent source of fiber, as well as vitamins A and C)

▪️Berries such as blueberries and strawberries

You NEVER want to give your dog any food containing the ingredient Xylitol (used as a sugar substitute) which is in things like sweets, chewing gum, syrups, and even some peanut butter brands.

Here is also a list of dangerous foods and treats to NOT allow your dog to eat.
If you believe your pet may have ingested any of these foods, please contact us, your nearest veterinary facility, or call ASPCA poison control at (888)-426-4435 right away.
