It is with a broken heart, we have come to the decision that we must rehome our dog Koltin. As he’s maturing, it seems that he needs to be in a single dog home. We have worked with a trainer the last few weeks to see if we can get him to be fine in the house with our older female dog. While they are good in a neutral setting, it’s just not working for either dog within our home.
He just turned 2 years old on 2/28/22, he is fixed, microchipped, up to date on all shots and about 85lbs. He is fully house trained, can be crated if needed, but does well uncrated as well. He is a very high energy dog, needing daily exercise and play. He loves to play and is very inquisitive. Sometimes though he is a stubborn bully, so you must have patience. He is my great walking companion. He seeks affection, his big head in a lap is common and he loves to curl up on the couch or bed at night with a human. He will definitely be your shadow companion. He is good on a leash and we’ve been working hard to get him even better. He’d love a fenced in yard as he loves to just roam and explore. We have not had him around real small kids, so probably best if he’s not in a home with them.
He seems to do fine with other dogs on neutral territory, but he needs to be the only dog in the home. He’s young and very flexible, he’ll adapt very quickly to a new scenario. This pains us tremendously as he has become an even better pet as we’ve worked hard to try to get our two to coexist together. But we need to look at what’s best for both our pets. Like we said, he’s a very energetic dog and he cannot be in a home where he’s is an afterthought.
Please share with friends and family, but we need to be sure any potential owner can be vouched for and interviewed by us.
