Easter baskets and egg hunts are fun for kids, but they can be dangerous for your pets.

We see a lot of pets coming in this time of year after getting into things they shouldn't, but a little prevention can go a long way.

Here are a few common Easter season hazards to make sure to keep out of reach of your pets:
🍫 Chocolate: Especially dark or baking chocolate are very toxic to dogs
💐 Lilies: Easter lilies are extremely toxic to cats
🎊 Easter Grass: The plastic grass commonly used to decorate Easter baskets can cause intestinal blockages in pets if eaten
🍭 Candy: Especially sugar-free candy containing xylitol is highly toxic to dogs

We know the recent winter storm has affected all of us significantly, and we hope that you and your families have been able to start to get back to normal.

In thanks for your support and patience as we navigated power outages and refrigerated inventory loss, we will be opening special hours this weekend for a Wellness Day:

Sandwich Animal Hospital Wellness Day

Saturday, March 7th

9am-1pm

We’ll be offering wellness exams and vaccines during these appointments. You’ll also be able to take advantage of our current prevention special, where we’re matching the rebates on select flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives*.

Space is limited and appointments are required, so please give us a call at 508-888-2774 during business hours this week to schedule a time to come in on Saturday.

Update:

Due to continued power loss, we are continuing to operate on a limited service basis. We will be opeing at 11am today, Thursday, 2/26. We are still only able to see sick pets at this time and are temporarily unable to administer vaccines.

If your pet is sick and needs to be seen, please give us a call at 508-888-2774 and leave a message. Our team will call you back when they are able to schedule a time for you to come in.

Due to the widespread power outages, we will be closed until 12pm on Wednesday, February 25th. Due to the loss of power, we are only able to see sick pets at this time and are temporarily unable to administer vaccines.
