Looks like hornet season is in full flight....
Here is a quick lesson on hornet nests. Here locally there are 3 varieties: Bald-faced, German Yellow Jackets, and Western Yellow Jackets. We also have Paper Wasps and assorted pollinators.

If you need assistance with a hive, please call! We offer a chemical free removal. And a guarantee them to not rebuild if I can reach the comb.

Bats are truly underrated and have gotten a bad rap.

We are seeing lots of folks post about bears...

WDFW Officer Bozeman investigated an individual intentionally feeding a black bear and her cubs. Officer Tank and Sgt. Willette followed up with the individual and issued a written warning. Additional attractants were located on scene. Any future violations will result in an infraction up to $1,025.

Did you know? It is illegal to intentionally feed or attract large carnivores in Washington. Often, people leave food out for bears so they can take pictures of, observe them, or show them to visiting friends. Unfortunately, this can lead to bears associating people with food, causing them to lose their natural wariness of people. Teaching black bears that they can get food from people increases the chance of human-bear conflict. Over 90 percent of human-bear conflicts result from bears being conditioned to associate people with food. It only takes one instance of a bear being fed by people or accessing attractants like garbage cans, pet food, or bird feeders to permanently condition them to human-provided attractants. Bears that become habituated to humans and accustomed to eating non-natural food sources may have to be lethally removed to protect public safety.

Please – do your part to keep bears wild. Visit wdfw.wa.gov/blackbears and bearwise.org to learn more about living with black bears and preventing conflict.

We would like to clear the air on this...

First and formost, Washington Agricultural Code (WAC) does not allow for relocation of wildlife. In order to relocate wildlife we would need a permit for WDFW that is signed by the Director.

Secondly.....Don't feed wildlife! You are offsetting the balance of nature and creating poor living condition. Every animal needs a certain amount of space to live a healthy life. Even with a food source, this is not a healthy environment. This is a breeding ground for disease.

The woman said she'd been feeding the animals for 35 years.
