New York Bully Crew is a 501c3 not-for-profit rescue organization founded in December 2010. We specialize in rescuing Pitbulls, however no animal in dire need of rescue is turned away. NYBC strives to bring positive attention to the most loyal breed one could encounter, and give second chances to those who have been discarded by humans simply because of what they are…a Pitbull. Finding

loving and responsible homes for each and every rescue is our main objective. We at NYBC firmly believe that there are NO bad dogs, just bad owners, and educating the public is a must if the bully breeds are to have a chance of survival in today’s society. Aside from rehabilitating and placing our rescues in a safe environment, another priority for the NYBC is to inform the public of the despicable acts against Pitbulls that go on everyday. Dog fighting, and the cruelties associated with it, is a huge problem in the world of Pitbulls. This horrific “sport” can alter a dog’s wonderful temperament into a fearful, scarred, possibly aggressive animal that can be viewed as a danger and threat to society. At no fault of their own, these loving, intelligent, athletic and incredibly loyal dogs are being prosecuted by the masses, when the real culprits are the people who put them in these horrible situations. Unfortunately, these circumstances have many dogs finding themselves in kill shelters that utilize inhumane methods of euthanasia. This dreadful situation is compounded by negative attention in the media. Because of this, we will continue to advocate for the breed, and educate the public about these issues. 🐾 Our beautiful Rex has been waiting for his forever home for about four years now. Rex is a beautiful Akita mix.

We rescued him after he was left abandoned in a house in Bayport. With his unknown past, and his previous humans failing him, Rex has some quirks. But don’t we all?

He has never had a loving home before, and he would need to learn how to.

He can be acclimated with another dog following a slow and proper introduction. He is great with kids, but he prefers a home with no cats.

Baby Sloan can finally sleep soundly. Feet up, belly full, and not a care in the world. 🥹

Looking at him now, it is hard to believe this is the same puppy we rescued just a few weeks ago.

When Sloan arrived, he was nothing but skin and bones. Starving. Weak. Critically ill. His tiny body had endured more neglect and suffering than any puppy ever should.

It still baffles us how anyone could abuse and neglect such an innocent little soul.

But Sloan refuses to let his past define him.

Every day, he gets a little stronger. A little healthier. A little more confident. He has already gained so much weight since we rescued him, and seeing the transformation has been nothing short of incredible.

We truly cannot wait until he is fully healed so we can share a side-by-side comparison with all of you. We know it is going to be one of the most remarkable transformations we have ever seen. 🤍

🐾 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 has been with us for six long years, and it breaks our hearts that he’s never been given a real chance.

He was rescued after being found cruelly tied up in a park, and while he’s come a long way since then, he’s still waiting for his forever home.

Guiness would thrive as the only dog in the household, which has made his search for the right family a bit more difficult, but we know the perfect match is out there.

He’s a truly special boy with so much love to give. He just needs someone to see him.

Back in 2019, this little guy was found by kind strangers tied to a pole in New Jersey.

Despite such a rough start, Chip has grown into a dog full of personality and energy. He has made tremendous progress over the years, but because Chip does resource guard, he needs a confident, experienced leader who can continue guiding him on his journey.

One year ago, Bolt got the second chance he deserved. 🤍

When Bolt came to us, his future was uncertain. Deaf and abandoned after his owner became disabled, he found himself at risk of euthanasia through no fault of his own. We put out an urgent plea for help, determined to save him.

Today, we are so happy to share that Bolt is absolutely thriving.

Bolt’s family may look familiar to some of you. His sister, Miracle, was rescued by NYBC two years ago from the NYC ACC after she gave birth in her kennel. Sadly, only one of her puppies survived. Despite everything she endured, Miracle remained a sweetheart.

Now, Bolt and Miracle are living the life they both deserve. They are happy, loved, spoiled, and completely inseparable.

Seeing updates like this reminds us why we do what we do. A year ago, Bolt was a dog who had been overlooked. Today, he is a cherished family member living the life every dog deserves.

We rescued Maia in 2023 from severe abuse in Mexico, where she was 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗱, 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗳𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲, alongside Kemp. We brought them to New York, where they were adopted together.

Unfortunately, things are no longer working in the home.

Maia and Kemp have been experiencing increasing tension and conflict, and for their safety, we have made the decision to 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.

Maia is a beautiful blue & white girl who is deeply loyal and affectionate once she trusts you. She loves to cuddle, burrow under blankets, and lay in the sun.

With the right family, Maia will make an incredible companion. She needs a confident owner, structure, and consistency; she thrives on routine.

Maia can be protective and has had an incident with visitors during heightened situations, especially with both dogs together, where she nipped. She needs clear boundaries and someone who understands her.

She is currently on Prozac, which has helped her.

Maia has one eye from past trauma, but it doesn’t slow her down at all.

😔 She has survived so much. She just needs the right environment to finally feel safe and thrive.
