It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Layla’s unexpected passing.
Although she was only with us for a short time, she made a lasting impact on our barn and on each of us who had the privilege of knowing her. We were incredibly lucky to have her.
As one of our students said so beautifully, “thank you for everything and all the joy you brought.”

It’s National Horse Day, and we wanted to take a moment to thank the horses who make Cedar Croft feel like home.
They carry us through lessons, long days, and toward big goals. Each one of them brings their own personality, quirks, and heart to the barn.
We’re endlessly grateful for the horses who teach us, challenge us, and take care of us every step of the way. We truly wouldn’t be here without them. 🥹❣️

Happy Thanksgiving from our Cedar Croft family to yours! 🦃🍂🫶🏻
We loved spending Thanksgiving Eve on the trails at Caumsett State Park with so many of our riders. Sharing these horses with you is truly the best part of what we do, and we’re grateful every day for the students, families, and horses who make this community what it is.

Team Cedar Croft had a great day at the final pace of the 2025 season with the at Sandpiper Farm. 🍂🌊🐴
Monique & Polo Joe and Katy & Rosie made strong time, just a touch ahead of optimum and secured 4th place in a competitive field. We’re proud of their hard work and the way they’ve wrapped up the season.
As always, we’re grateful for the incredible horses who make days like this possible, and for Dr. Fredericks, whose constant support and ownership help keep our team moving forward.
Proud of our barn family and excited for many more paces ahead.

Second place finish for Team Cedar Croft Farms! 🏆❤️🥈
Today, we attended the Smithtown Hunt Club’s Hunter Pace at Old Westbury, where our team took second place in the Hunt division. Finishing just 14 seconds behind the winning time! Congratulations to our riders Monique, Nicole, and Katy and a special thank you to our incredible horses: Joe, Cedric, and Rosie. Huge thanks to for hosting such a fun day, and as always, a special shoutout to Doc Fredrick’s, our amazing barn owner and biggest supporter!
